The Shandon Group specializes in property management and maintenance for all types of dwellings and commercial property in South Carolina. From Spartanburg and Greenville to Columbia to Georgetown and Beaufort, we provide a streamlined experience & cost-effective approach with our renters and owners in mind.
Our Property Management staff has over 85 years of combined experience. Our staff can offer you peace of mind knowing your property is always taken care of. We have competitive pricing and unbeatable service! The Shandon Group manages all types of property: family homes, duplexes, condominiums, apartments, and commercial property.
We have a vast selection of apartments, townhomes, duplexes, and houses on or near various campuses. All our student rental leases end in May, June, or July for your convenience. You will be notified every time we have an available property that might fit your criteria. At The Shandon Group, we understand that you might not have any or very little credit, rental history, or income verification, so we have a Parent Letter of Guarantee Form.

WE DO NOT RENT ANY PROPERTIES SIGHT UNSEEN UNLESS THERE ARE SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OR YOU ARE MILITARY!
Please remember that we handle maintenance requests and not always are able to approve any cosmetic wishes or upgrades. If this is a dire emergency (pipe busted, flooding, etc), please call our Emergency line at 803.758.4104. Please remember that it is the tenant's responsibility to change the HVAC filters regularly and if your HVAC is found to have dirty filters then you will be charged for the entire HVAC bill!

My power is constantly going out, and I have informed them of this issue. I have not received a comforting response or a temporary fix to the issue that has been conducted with others that I know have been working with this company. I am a Black male with a son and we have had to wake up in the cold and I believe it was Stephanie who made me feel less than a human yesterday on the phone instead of reassuring me and double checking on resolving the issue.
I received aggravation instead of help, attitude instead of understanding, selfishness instead of selflessness. I am writing this statement because

Very disappointing and frustrating experience with The Shandon Group. The owner's daughter is quick to secure your business but careless and unresponsive after that. We rented out our house briefly and every time there was an issue, there was slow response or mediation from Shandon. At some point we weren't even sure if they were representing us or our tenants! The closer you get to the end of your contract, the less interested they appear and don't seem to care to represent you anymore. I gave it 1 star because I had to. This company had me running around ALL morning in 95 degree heat getting all the info and things that they required to rent a place. Gave me keys to look at it. I get ALL of this done just to have the lady (not a nice lady by ANY means) tell me that the landlord somehow in the 45 minutes I was gone, didnt want to rent these units NOW!!! After a 1/2 hour in line at Walmart to get a money order. Bothering my boss for paystubs while she is home with her Covid 4 year old, 95 degree heat and a lot of wasted gas. So sympathy or empathy for what they just put me thru

I applied for a property with this company , it took 2-3 days to respond to only say I’m denied. They said I didn’t make 2.5 times the over price rental. When I looked over the income -because of course you send in the amount they are wanting prior to applying and paying the first month rent- it was enough. I called to ask why, they said yes that’s never taxes... so I assume they do taxes and tell me what’s left after I pay my taxes. So I said well I only showed this income because it was enough, I could also add my additional income if that will help she rudely said I guess you can send

It seems to me that every time someone makes a negative comment about this company someone from the company responds back. When someone does it's always either putting the persons personal business out on full display, which is under certain guidelines, could come back to hunt them. or.... they'll respond by saying that the person never rented a property. either way it's just unprofessional. everyone is entitled to write what ever review they want, without getting verbally attacked, or business aired, or feeling like their being retaliated against, cause of what the wrote on a darn review.

This is how the shandon group "manages" someone's property and rented it out to me. I was so shocked when I moved in. I drove 2100 miles from west coast to this small town Columbia and discovered my rental home was like this in the photos. I couldn't move in this unhealthy and dangerous environment with my baby daughter and my pregnant self. These people never inspected the property after the previous tenants moved out a month ago and never checked in with their cleaning crew. The cleaning people left chemical supplies on the kitchen countertop and left both front and back door

I am moving to Columbia extremely short notice and The Shandon Group helped me secure a short term lease flawlessly. I will definitely be using The Shandon Group to find permanent housing come the end of this lease in June. Claire has answered every call and email precisely. Joy went above and beyond to secure this lease. So far, The Shandon Group has pleased me above measures.
Update: Roughly 5 months renting from The Shandon Group and Claire and Joy are still great. I haven't had any maintenance request, so I haven't had any experience with that process. I think largely it is a mix between property

I would frequently call in the same issue multiple times and it would take weeks to resolve. Staff would not even write down my name and information when I called and then claim they received no call about it when we brought up how long issues were taking to resolve. They also refused to add deadbolts to doors accessible from the outside after our neighbors had a break in, instead passing my calls to multiple people before ignoring the request (that was again not noted or written down after calling). Multiple work orders were marked complete despite not being finished and we had to follow up ourselves

I have been dealing with a leaking roof for 4 months now with significant internal damage. It has been "fixed" 5 times just to have it leak every time a dark cloud comes over columbia. Four months with water dripping from more than two places in my roof with no contact at all from the leasing company despite multiple calls on my behalf concerning it. I was not notified that I would be SHARING a garage with my neighbor as the garage is too small to fit two cars.
