This was my first stay at The Cottage Inn. I really enjoyed the upstairs Ocean View room. The seating outside with Fire pits and other seating for guest was the Best. I do plan to return and will pass along the great stay with others.

Really nice place to stay. Very cozy, but with all your amenities. Including an electric fireplace, pool, and jacuzzi. Right on the ocean bluff.

The location and incredible ocean view could justify the overpriced hotel.
Be sure to ask for room #517. It has a patio, a fireplace and incredible view of the ocean.

Bathroom Door, Shower and Toilet was a disaster!
Unusable!
They all need to be replaced!
$350/night for and ocean view room and the windows and screens were so Dirty you could not see the ocean waves or birds or people. The window was so broken that it fell on me when i was trying to open it! The hand rails on the stair was is overgrown with vines so you can't use them. That's a safety matter! They had no Blankets in the room and after trying to call the front desk for an hour we went to bed cold.

Easy check-in, 24hour concierge. Easy parking, easy to find, nice cottage theme (a little outdated but definitely has the most personality than the other hotels on the block). Fireplace in every room which was very nice. Provided toiletries were average. Beds were large and very comfortable. Heated pool and jacuzzi were great, although there are no bubbles in the latter (just a whirlpool).

In a prime location! Walking distance from downtown, but also a short drive north around the Shell Beach area (5 min away from Dinosaur Cave Park, Zorro's, etc.). The hotel itself has beach access and a

I understand that during covid the housekeepers don't clean your room everyday but we had just checked in and we were getting ready for bed when we noticed loose tobacco in the sheets. We told the front desk and they changed the sheets but didn't bother to vacuum up the tobacco on the floor. There was also a hair in the bathtub and on the floor in the bathroom which we hadn't even used yet. We've been coming here since this hotel opened and the cleanliness isn't there anymore which is sad.

We stayed fir the first time and for three nights. We had a bottom floor full ocean view and what a view. We could wAlk right outside abs use the fire pits or relax in comfy chairs. Great restaurant near by (Valenta).
I would have given 5 stars but the bed was very uncomfortable. If they replace them, we WILL return!!!

It definitely is a cottage. I get it, it has to stick to the theme but this is central California. Its hot! Please install air conditioning in the rooms. Also, its 2021! Please install some usb ports for people traveling for work.

Other than those things, this place is beautiful. The bathrooms could use a little more cleaning but the beds and everything else was clean.

Would definitely stay here again.

Had to wait 20 min for someone to show up to check us in. Sign said be back in 10 min. NOPE 20min. No big deal, except, we booked a King and got a queen. The room was hot. No AC, open windows only to hear the party next door at the pool. The power sockets were destroyed. Risk of shock if you plug in your phone. They NO LONGER SERVE BREAKFAST. I'll never stay again.

First off I'd like to let the management/owners of Cottage Inn know that Mitch is the man! Mitch received us at the front desk and was very polite, informative, patient and helpful and made us felt very welcomed.
Staying at the Cottage Inn by the Sea was like stepping back in time. Very quaint ,clean and fairly large rooms that come with a gas fireplace. Wifi is available, they do have a pool and hot tub. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Our room had a high ceiling (we were on the second floor) with a large ceiling fan. One thing to keep in mind is that the rooms do

The Central Coast is a special place for our family so when we decided to host our wedding in SLO we knew a Pismo hotel for our out of towners was a must! We previously had stayed here and loved it, super chill and relaxful place. One of the best locations on the central coast so it was a must to host our siblings and in-laws from Missouri here. They were blown away by Cottage Inn by the Sea and still talk about coming back. We were lucky to have the opportunity to stay the night before we moved over to our venue and the details were incredible. We had the pleasure of working with Kayla in booking

Good value! Comfortable room with small fridge and microwave and gas fireplace. Free coffee in lobby. Wonderful location with stairs down to the beach and a picturesque walk to the pier. Nice hot tub and pool. Front desk gentleman was excellent. We were offered a beach view room but skipped it and were pretty satisfied to spend more on dinner. Room was updated and clean.

Super location. You can access the beach by walking through the neighboring hotel. Walk to Pismo Pier within 20 min's or so depending on your speed. Room was cozy and perfect for a couple. It's a little pricey but I guess that's because you're directly on the ocean. No food service at this time. There is coffee in the lobby and your room. Beds are comfortable. Noise level is OK. You can hear people moving around above you if you're on the main level.

I had a great experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. I stayed in an ocean front room and it made this stay quite magical. As you lay in bed you hear the sounds off the waves crashing which just made the stay so relaxing and peaceful. The fire pits really added to this experience. We grabbed some coffee and enjoyed the morning sitting at the fire. We It was hard to leave and I will definitely go back.

This has been my favorite place to stay in a Pismo Beach for the past eight years. I now live locally and during this pandemic, I needed a staycation and made reservations here. It's still a beautiful place to stay, with wonderful views of the ocean.

Wholly not deserving of $500/night for a rundown, with cracked and non-functioning window treatments, paint scratched off of doors and aged and dirty rugs. Yes, you're oceanfront - Mother Nature provided that. It's clear the investors and owners of the Inn are doing well - unfortunately much of the profitability is not being reinvested into the facility. Staff are pleasant in spite of the facility issues.
Recommend for this kind of cost, pick another hotel.

Great place to stay for families. Large room with two king beds. Fridge, microwave, iron, and blow dryer available. Cable tv flat screen and WiFi available. No usb plug in so take regular wall cables for devices. No AC just a fan. Temperature at Pismo in July is about 72 degrees so you don't really need AC but it would be nice to have it just in case.

The sisters and I stayed at the Cottage Inn by the Sea on 11/06/20 and I have to say it is probably one the best hotel experiences we had!

I didn't know this was a beach front hotel until checking in. When we arrived around 2pm there was ample parking and you can see the beautiful beach view from the parking lot which was awesome.

We got early check in at no additional charge' which was nice. The staff was very friendly and kind and even gave me compliments on my Halloween nails. The deposit was only $25 which was not bad at all! The only thing I didn't like is that a day before

So this spot was super cute and all!
The only thing that really turned me off was-- the smell inside the room..
I have a pretty sensitive nose and I do understand there's no AC (which was fine, it wasn't crazy hot)
But it meant there was absolutely no air flow..
The room smells like-- musty, dirty carpet smell. And well it's obvious -- there's a lot of stains all over.
They really really should get the carpets cleaned with the prices they charge.. A carpet cleaning should be no big deal!
I couldn't tell if anything else smelled?
Like bed sheets or towels because the carpet

TL;DR: panoramic ocean views and a fun nearby beach town aren't enough to make this cottage worthy of your money. Invest elsewhere.

This review is for a 7 nights, 8 day stay.

When we arrived to this facility, we were initially struck by the views. The reception area is located immediately to the right as you enter in the smaller than usual driveway. We found that only one car/truck could pull out safely at a time.management has poor communication of covid changes.

The grounds have roughly 80 Units. The parking spaces are located closely to the bungalows but there isn't enough spaces

Spacious rooms and great access to the beach. Free Parking . Free wifi. Pool Reservations are limited to 1/ stay during COVID 19. Fire rings and seating area are first come first serve ( S'mores kits are available at the front desk) The linens are soft and clean. Only draw back is the rooms have no AC. There is a ceiling fan but the room gets stuffy even with all windows open. I suggest checking in as close to 4pm in order to get better selection of rooms.

FYI Hotel will charge your card for half of your total charges on day of check in ( before you arrive) if you booked through third

Had a great time here. Got to give it a 5 stars. Love the architecture/design. Looks like a small town village with a well in the middle of the parking lot. Got the ocean front view room and it was well worth the upgrade. So beautiful. They have fire pit so you can sit out and enjoy the view. Also have s'more pack for sale.
There's a trail that also go down to beach for exploring.
Breakfast is included and has an amazing array of food. Waffles, cereal, oatmeal, bagel and bread, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, and yogurt parfait. Drinks with orange juice and coffee and tea. During our weekend

This hotel was unforgettable! I booked it on a whim to surprise my boyfriend for our trip up north. The hotel buildings are super quaint and cute, the rooms were clean and gorgeous! I slept like a baby to the sound of the waves next to us. There was plenty to see about half an hour away as downtown SLO has the best coffee shops and the cutest stores.

I will say that I was a bit disappointed that the fireplace was not working the first night we got there but I called the front desk, they came right away to fix it and were so nice and apologized for not having it up and ready. We skipped breakfast
