Tooth decay is the single most chronic common childhood disease and 90% of it is preventable! Our office, as well as the the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that a child see a dentist by his or her first birthday. This rarely happens.
We are committed to making sure that your child's first visit to our office will be a positive experience. Let your child know that the dentist and the staff are going to explain everything they do. Don't talk about "needles, " "shots, " or any of those words that will sound "scary" to your child. We will explain everything using language that is non-frightening to your child.
Pediatric dentists train for two to three additional years beyond dental school. They take specialized training focused on the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. At each stage in a child's development from one year olds, their early years through to pre-teens and teenagers, child need a different approach dealing with behavior and guidance that will help them to avoid dental problems throughout their lives.

Dr. Maria is fabulous. We have a young child who is extremely anxious with any dental work. Dr. Maria and her entire staff were very calming and soothing and did all the work necessary in a single session without any tears or resistance from our little one (a miracle in itself). They helped him overcome his fear and change his perception of dentists. We highly recommend this practice to any family in need of a compassionate, professional pediatric dentist.

I went Dr Maria after my husband made the appt. he just went for the one with the highest google review. She was very nice and her staff were extremely attentive going the extra mile to put my son’s name up in the room on a welcome banner. Office is equipped with all sorts of toys and tablets and is basically a 7 year olds dream. I do not have dental insurance for my 7 year old and he needs a lot of work. Dr Maria have quite a diagnosis that would require 4 dentists visits and quite a lot of money. I got a full set of x rays, the exam and the diagnosis for $370. As with any dentist who is asking

The best pediatric dental experience I have had (as a mom for her child). Dr Castaneda's staff is very welcoming, warm and knowledgeable. The receptionist is very kind. As a first time patient, my child was given a tour and felt right at home. When it was time to get his teeth cleaned, my child felt secure and relaxed.
