About Atelier Zobel

Peter Schmid, the man behind Atelier Zobel, finds the major source of his inspiration from natural structures and growth patterns.

Peter Schmid is often referred to as a 'stone whisperer'. A central part of his craft is knowing gemstones intimately, as differing personalities.

About Jeff And Susan Wise

Working in a shared studio in Durango, Colorado, Jeff Wise sculpts, his wife Susan paints, and they collaborate on jewelry, which uses their gifts for structure and color in thrilling, new ways.

Jeff was Susan's teacher, their jewelry work being quite technical, and the learning curve pretty steep, patience from both of them was very important.

French is awesome! There is always something beautiful to see at his store. The artists he works with are amazing. If you are in Old Town Scottsdale, don't miss stopping in to see French.

An icon in Scottsdale,AZ. Love their rings and many designers to choose from. My favorites being Barbara Heinrich and Alex Sepkus. Vicky and French were wonderful, sharing info about the designers and suggestions.

French and Vicki are fantastic! They are always very friendly and attentive when I visit the gallery. I have commissioned pieces as well as bringing items for repairs and to be repurposed. French always exceeds my expectations!

I AM rating 'FRENCH ON MAIN' - as the locals call it - 5 out of 5 stars (a perfect rating); if I could rate "French Designer Jeweler" (actual name) of Scottsdale an entire galaxy of stars, I most certainly would!
Recently, my family was in Arizona for medical treatment for my husband of nearly 4 decades. My unexpected task one morning was to purchase final gifts from their Dad for each member of our immediate family (our 4 adult kids and their spouses). Of course, I would be purchasing jewelry.
I drove into Old Town, a place new to me, lost physically and emotionally. I didn

Exquisite work. The designers are sculptors and artists and their work reflects their personality. The pieces are fun and gorgeous all at the same time. Oh to be rich!

Uninteresting and haute, unwelcoming atmosphere and unfriendly. They make you feel unwanted, even on an art walk with open doors, they make you feel like a peasant, because they are oh-so special. Unless you show up in a bentley and pull out a black credit card they will look down their overpriced, unattractive noses at you. Very uppity, very scottsdale, what do you expect. quickly uninterested and would not suggest to anyone who wants human treatment.

For the individual who appreciates artisan and couture, this place is a must! French represents designs by many talented jewellers including himself. The staff is gracious and client centered. I visited because they carry Sarah Graham and wanted to add to my collection. I left with an appreciation of other artists that I'd never encountered before. Take time to stop in and browse but note it's difficult to walk away empty handed.
