Services
Primary Care Health Services, Inc. is a private, community-based nonprofit corporation, formed in 1976 as the successor to the Homewood-Brushton Neighborhood Health Center (founded in 1968).

Located on Hamilton Avenue in the Homewood community of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the health center was subsequently renamed the "Alma Illery Medical Center" to honor the civic leader, community champion and "doctor of goodwill, " Mrs. Alma Illery, who received an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Tuskegee University for her advocacy of racial integration in hospitals and promotion of training minorities for careers in health care.
To provide quality health care, and useful educational health services to the residents of Western Pennsylvania. To ensure that continued care is rendered to an individual by the same physician and that patients assume some responsibility for their care through ongoing health, education, and prevention.
PCHS providers offer care for patients of all ages. Some of our providers have additional training to meet specialized healthcare needs such as women's health, sports medicine and podiatry. Please see the list below to learn more about our staff of trained physicians mid-level providers.

PCHS receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).

The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting donation, education and research, education and research for the purpose of saving and improving lives through organ, tissue, and cornea transplantation.
Primary Care Health Services, Inc. provides all phases of general dental health services for infants, teens and adults. Our qualified teams of dentists, dental hygienist and dental assistants work together to ensure that we provide our patients the best dental care available. Our dental services are provided at our locations Alma Illery, Hill House, McKeesport health centers and our West End dental center.

Quick and easy COVID testing. A friend recommended this van to me since all the local drug stores and pharmacies were full on appointments.

Get there a few minutes early to get in line. It moved pretty quick. Try to watch the informational video online ahead of time so that you can do the test to yourself while the attendant helps the next person in line. Free Parking in the lot. In and out.
