Dry needling (DN) is a technique physical therapists use (where allowed by state law) to treat myofascial pain. The technique uses a "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle, known as trigger points.
DN uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues - for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. In cases when dry needling is used by physical therapists, it is typically 1 technique that's part of a larger treatment plan.

Having physical therapy twice a week during the holiday season could be a real hassle, but I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions with Lindsey. Because she directed my attention toward strengthening my core. The only place to go! ATL Sport & Spine got me through bilateral hip replacement & Pilates has carried me through ever since (i.e. 5 years later)!

(Unfortunately), I've been to many PT practices over the years. AS+S is by FAR the most comprehensive, caring, advanced practice that I've had the opportunity to experience. @TravisLewek (therapist) has been nothing short of miraculous (and patient). I've gone from extreme hip pain (referral from low back) and stuck in bed to walking 4M, back in the gym (slowly) and happy. I know I will be back to 100% with their help and guidance. Thank you!

They did not do their due diligence in making sure the correct muscles were firing during my exercises. Now two years later I'm in physical therapy again explaining how I've done hundreds of clams bridges etc but I'm still tight and in pain. Only this time I've gotten dry needling and kinesio tape done for the first time to inhibit the wrong muscles from firing. I never had this when I came here originally and I think it would have made all the difference in my hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours exercising being effective or not. I think my therapist actually just thought I was lazy for not

This would have been a 5/5, but I'm disappointed in the team's inflexibility when it comes to rescheduling (not canceling) an appointment. Over two months going twice per week: one time I was locked out of my car, and was not able to make the appointment (rescheduled to the following day), and recently a conflict came up in my schedule so I called to reschedule. If you have ONE reschedule they waive a $25 fee, and your second reschedule it's assessed (no way around it apparently). Even though this would have been my very last visit with the office, there was a lack of compassion in waving this

I have been sorely remiss in not relating my outstanding experience at Atlanta Sport and Spine. Beginning mid-Summer 2020, I began to experience severe sciatica due to a disc issue. My physician recommended Atlanta Sport and Spine, and I began therapy there immediately. My therapist, Danny, proved to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, and sincerely caring. Well before I even saw a physiatrist about my issue, Danny readily assessed the likely, specific source of my pain, providing me a program of therapy and exercises to address it. Danny always sought to remain updated on my progress, even

During my time with Atlanta Sport & Spine Physical Therapy, I was under the care of Travis. He was clear and communicative, always providing accurate instruction, explanation, correction and encouragement. He took the time to personally relate to me, and I noticed that he does that with all of his patients, too. Travis played a crucial role in my process of healing and recuperation for my lower-back, and he made sure that I was educated and equipped to continue that process on my own. It was only a few weeks before I noticed a significant difference in my own health, and a matter of several months
