Services
Honey Bear Preschool and Child Care Center's programs are planned around the young child's developmental abilities. Chronological age is used as a guide for placement when other assessment data is not available; however, chronological age is only one of the many factors considered.

In fact, early childhood research indicates that individual growth and development patterns among young children are so varied that grouping according to developmental abilities is much more satisfactory than grouping with age as the primary criteria. We believe in the benefits of cross-age childhood experiences and therefore arrange our programs to allow older children to interact with younger ones under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
The Baby Bear A infant daycare classroom is planned to meet the special needs of very young children and their families. Our goal is to create a partnership with parents that will ensure that each child receives the very best care while at the center. A partnership begins with open communication and mutual respect between families and staff.
The preschool philosophy of Honey Bear Preschool and Child Care Center is to provide a developmentally appropriate program for young children that fosters the whole child concept, respects each child as an individual and stimulates a child's natural interest in, and enjoyment of, learning. To feel competent, productive and self-reliant, as well as fostering good self-esteem and a sense of self worth;.
Title XXII of the California Administrative Code requires that all children be signed in and signed out each day. The parent, guardian, or a person authorized by the parent or guardian must use his/her full signature and include the arrival or departure time when signing the child in or out. When you arrive, the school does not become responsible for your child until you sign the attendance record and a teacher has accepted her/him.
Our guidelines are designed to protect both well and ill children and center employees. The policies reflect the regulations of the State of California Licensing Division, state and local health department, standard universal precautions, recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and the Professional Association of Childhood Education.

My kids each spent four years at Honey Bear (a few years back) for daycare and preschool and we loved this school!! The teachers and staff genuinely cared for my sons and felt like family. They made it easy for me to go back to work after maternity leave because I knew my boys were so well-cared for. My kids were fed nutritious lunches and snacks, they had fun educational activities every day, and I'm sure they had as much learning and fun time and even more socializing time as I could give them if I had been a stay-at-home mom. I know it sounds sappy, but I really can't say enough about how much

Honey Bear has been a true blessing for our family. The ownership, staff and teachers are incredibly caring, they create an environment of respect, exploration and learning. And they have achieved this high level of excellence consistently over 5 years, in each and every classroom our child has been in. So as a father, I couldn't ask for anything more for our child's preschool experience. They communicate well and send photos through an app each day, which I'm really going to miss when our child is in kindergarten!

Honey Bear Preschool and Child Care Center, formerly the Loma Alta Children's School, was founded in 1967 and has been family owned ever since. The school is very clean and in excellent repair. The staff are very helpful and always try to accommodate parents' schedules. Field trips and guess speakers are common. And in the summer, older students, for a small fee have the opportunity to take swim lessons.
