Papa's Place Family Restaurant was opened 4 years ago by Dawn Powell and her daughter Katlin Powell in honor of Frank Lippolis (Dawn's dad; Katlin's granddad) who was a lover of people and food. Family meant everything to him and he never met a stranger. Dawn and Katlin pattern their diner style restaurant to give you a family feel of sitting around the table together to enjoy a "home cooked" meal.
Our catering menu begins with parties of 12 or more and is custom designed to meet all of your needs whether a small intimate group or large event. Our restaurant is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, and more. We would love to discuss how to be a part of your next family or business function.

Amazing food took me back to my childhood breakfasts at my grandparents.. love that they offer such a variety!! Will make this a staple when we are here!!! Amazing service too!! Support this place .. this is a gem that’s few and far between! The S.O.S.. made me tear up it was like taking a step back nearly 40 years !! Thank you Papa’s place and Colin our server!!

After seeing all the great reviews and the close location to my home I could not wait to try this place. The service was good however the food was very mediocre at best. The pancakes tasted boxed and grits were very mealy. I was very disappointed in the omelette I tried the Western omelette and it was very runny and the eggs tasted like egg beaters. The biscuits were just ok as well. To be honest it's probably on point with ihop maybe a little worse :(

First time at this place, I hear the one in Dawsonville is good. My husband ordered the papa's special burger. Said it came with brown gravy over fries. It was a sloppy mess, smothered in a half gallon of instant brown gravy. His side was macaroni salad. It was soured, the manager said it was made the night before. (Sure) she said she would change it for a different side, he asked for applesauce thinking there's no way they can mess that up, but they didn't have it. He asked mashed potatoes and gravy (don't know why cause he had a gallon of gravy on his plate). Of course they were instant too.

Fire the cook! make real homemade food instead of brown gravy from a pack. squash casserole tasted like grease. horrible food and outrageous prices for it. my family owned a resturaunt , and some items were frozen but there's some things you can't skimp on especially when you are pouring a gallon of brown gravy over a burger and fries. horrible idea. BLT came out with half a head of lettuce on it, sent it back for more bacon, the bacon was like hard shards of glass. almost broke a tooth. I did take pics and wish I could share this slop. Dahlonega needs a resturaunt with real home cooked food. also

I have only been here once but it was fantastic. Great prices and great food. This is where you want to go for good southern home cooking. They even have SOS on the menu lol the only downer is they are not open on Sunday and none of the food delivery apps like door dash or Uber eats delivers from here. I would recommend the biscuits and gravy.

Food is usually pretty good. Except the mashed potatoes. They've switched to instant instead of home made. I've been numerous times and it takes at least 30 minutes to get your food, no matter what you order, how many customers, or how many staff there are. Seriously, it took 30 minutes from order to table for a club sandwich. The constant complaining about no one wanting to work is also off-putting.

This is my go to for breakfast on Saturday mornings. Get there early cause they fill up quick. Everything I've had has been delicious. We go there for dinner sometimes and the dinner meals have been great too
I've found the prices to be reasonable and the service has been very good Getting there early helps. They have been short staffed but do a good job still.

Wow, wow what a suprise! Found on yelp when searching for diners while visiting friends from out of state. Excellent food and caring service withal apologies for being short staffed. Wasn't going for a burger but it was $5 burger day with a side! Got sweet potato fries without an upcharge! My husband got the pick 4 breakfast for $9.99 and was able to have a homemade cinnamon roll added on as one of the items. Very pleased, very full and satisfied.

found the food to be no more than average (and quite often wrong on our orders) and the service we receveived became worse the more we dined there.
I did notice often that the wait staff has no sense of urgency. Lots of standing around talking and playing behind the counter.
Food being sent out numerous times to the tables was taken to the wrong tables and brought back to the window. What !!!
Perhaps they need supervision and

This was my first time in this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The service is incredible and the food is also excellent. It's a nice family friendly environment with a feel of true Southern hospitality. There are plenty of menu choices and you really can't go wrong. Come with an appetite since there are generous portions, specially if you have pancakes.
I stopped with my family for breakfast, but will be back for lunch. Enjoy!

Omg this is the best breakfast my husband and I have ever had.
We couldn't even see this place when we searched on google. We drove by it and decided to stop. I am so glad we did. We had the country fried steak and the home something breakfast. It was enough food for 4 people and super cheap. The country potatoes were to die for! Even their toast was delicious! If we ever come back to Delonegha again we will have to eat here again!

We've been to Papa's place twice fir breakfast and have enjoyed it.
The staff is very friendly and the food is good.
Country atmosphere/decor. They have a little shop in the front that sells tshirts and other products. Cute!
We ordered sausage with our meal and received red links (??), way too spicy. Next time we need to try the bacon.
The rest of our meal was good. Would like to try lunch sometime!
