I've never met a receptionist so rude and disrespectful. Amy is her name. From the second I walked in she was on the phone being exceptionally rude to a customer and then it turned to me. I've got 4 dogs that all come to Ark animal hospital and always have. I guess I'll be looking for another place that treats their patients owners like people.

Staff is not very efficient so the wait time is longer than a free clinic. Waited 1 hour and only 2 dogs were ahead of us. Another 20 minutes waiting for shots to be gathered and the lady that gave shots is not a pet friendly person. Waited again for her to go get rabies tag. I'm guessing bringing tag along with rabies shot just did not occur to her. My dog likes everyone but her. Very strange indeed. I will go to the place the former vet at the Ark now works. She was great. No wait. This place is terrible now. I saw several ways to improve service. I will train staff for the same service fee you

They staff is so considerate and kind. All of the doctors are very knowledgeable. I do wish they made appointments so the wait time wasn't as long, but that's life. We have been using The Ark for most of my life. Other than Carriage Hills in Montgomery (which is a drive for me but is the best emergency vet around), they are the only people I trust with my babies. They even see guinea pigs and rabbits which is a plus.

Ark Animal Hospital is reasonable with their prices. They aren't just there for the money, they want to help your pets! We had our cat in hospital with them for a week. They knew of our budget and were willing to work with us to stay within our budget so that our cat could continue to get care. They didn't charge us for some things and discounted others. When we had to take our cat back due to a stubborn infection they saw him Friday and then again Monday to draw a urine sample, in which they had him the whole day, yet for both visits together they only charged us a total of $34! they didn't charge

Update Oct 2019, I'm lowering my rating since the original post in 2011. The upcharging has gotten ridiculous. I currently have 2 dogs from a rescue. Both were treated for HW by the rescue and have been on preventative that I purchased through another vet. Ark refuses to sell me more meds bc they "need" to do a HW lab on them ($50 each). I have paperwork proving they're clean they won't accept bc they want fees. It's a real shame, they used to be about the animals, now it's just more $$$.
