Hillary Juliette was homegrown on the south shore of Oahu. She left the islands to receive her formal training at a multi-ethnic hair school in Oakland California; as well as additional workshop courses at Vidal Sassoon in San Francisco, Bumble & Bumble Salon in New York City & American Crew of Colorado.
Hillary returned home to Oahu with a dedication to precession & spent several years gaining hands on experience as a stylist at Macy's Ala Moana. She then turned her dreams into reality & opened Winam Studio on 12/12/12! Winam Studio is dedicated to being inclusive; be it gender, race, religion, or hair texture, ALL ARE WELCOME.

Hilary and help are nothing but positivity the whole time you're in there. They are making sure the haircut is what you want. Music is always quality and she's gonna have you feeling good before, during, and after the haircut.
She's able to cut my thick curly hair when it's long and when its short. She is an overall great haircutter, knows she can continue improving at all her skills. Her barbering skills are very good and I'm happy to have her as my regular haircutter. I frequent about every 6 weeks and that's why she is worth the money, even for guys who are paying similar amount for barbers

Hillary gives a great cut! I have super curly hair, easy to make it look like a mess in the wrong hands. I've found maybe 4 stylists in my life who can cut hair, she's one of them. I've lived in NYC, D.C. and sought experts, and paid high prices. In the end, it simply comes down to being trained properly, and continuing your education. I've gotten my hair cut twice here, and feel the style is great. She's specific, which means you have to be, but not everyone is wired the same way. Hillary & her staff make getting your hair cut and or colored an experience. You are warmly greeted then quickly offered an espresso. For those that go in for her first appointment of the day which is before 5 am that first cup of Joe is welcomed. Why so early you may say, you get to enjoy your new style all day. You get to have someone else make you look pretty before going to work.
Hillary is a teaching/learning salon. Hillary always has mentors come in to teach her & others the newest cutting techniques.

I went from long to short...again. She did a great job the first time so I returned. I showed her a picture of something I liked and she asked me questions and showed me pictures so she could get a better feel of what I DIDNʻT like, too. End result is a short, wash and wear, stylish cut that fits my lifestyle. I am very happy with the result! So affordable and staff is friendly!

I just had my first haircut with Hilary, she is a true artist! Hilary took her time to assess my hair texture, the shape of my head and features, and shared her thoughts with me before she started cutting my hair. I brought a picture of what I wanted and she over delivered with a gorgeous haircut, and it was definitely a collaboration. I absolutely adore my funky pixie!!! I am so happy to find someone as skilled as Hilary! And, her prices are reasonable.

Hillary, the owner, manager, and stylist is not only welcoming but great at her craft. I've had my hair cut and colored on different occasions and have been more than satisfied. Not only does the job get done right it gets done fast. I've been to places with more hype in Honolulu and they could touch the service and product Winam Studio offers. I have been coming here since 2014 and found Hilary and her team to be very competent at what they do. But, in the last couple of times, the quality of service has drastically reduced and I'm not quite sure what the reason for that is.
I have thought about it long and hard whether or not to write a negative review since my previous experience with her was so nice, but I just kept thinking back to what she said to me "go ahead and leave a bad review, no one will believe you" That just didn't sit right with me, even if it was said in a jokingly way.

Had such a fun experience getting my hair cut by Hillary!! I came in with a couple of pictures and ideas and my expectations were exceeded (always trust your stylist). Hillary was so sweet, funny, straightforward, and I love my hair!! Salon is easy to find if you follow the directions after booking on schedulicity. Very clean space too.

I have been seeing Hilary for over 10 years now. I wear my hair long without any styling or products and yet because of Hilary's prowess I always get compliments from my friends. Hilary gets it DONE- she is educated, skilled, and hella time efficient and the greatest perk is that you can get your haircut at 5:00am if you wanted to. I have two kids and that is literally the only time I have to myself so I love that she offers her services this early.

Update- cut lasted a few weeks then it was junk. I finally went in to get a cut from my lost, then found again stylist and he said it looked like I went to a butcher. I actually had big chunks in the back. It was so uneven and crooked - bobs are pretty straight forward. It will take another 2-3 months for the length to grow back to filling even and blend

Just yesterday I received an email, that my appointment I made with Hillary was cancelled. There wasn't any request to change times or day. Okay, so I was going to reschedule online when I decided to read Winam's reviews. Winam Hair Salon has great reviews but the bad reviews seemed all so familiar.
I've had my haircut by Hillary, probably 5 times & each time walked out with a haircut I never asked for. I never said anything because the quality of the cut was great, but what is agreed upon & the results didn't match. She seems like a nice lady, but she'll get fixated

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I've wanted to get a shorter cut for so long, but every hairdresser that I've gone to resisted because of how thick my hair is.
When I walked into Winam today, Hilary not only welcomed my short hair idea, but was excited about it and gave great feedback on what to do with the fringe.

Hillary Juliette does the best cuts in town. She manages to technically and aesthetically cut your hair to your lifestyle the shape of your face your head and your overall Style. She works really hard and is a pleasure to chat with. Her studio is upstairs from the post office and Kaimuki. It's a great little neighborhood to stroll around with before or after your appointment. Hillary will offer you a rich espresso before during or after your appointment. Her little dog is adorable. You will feel right at home at winam Studio

I've been to Winam Studio twice and Hillary is hands down the best hairstylist I've ever gone to. Most places take about an hour half to cut my hair, she did it in half the time and triple the value. She knows exactly what works for your face shape, and will always do her best to make it look like you want. I came in wanting to chop off my blonde balayage which has been growing for about eight months now. So I found Hillary on Yelp, and since I work nearby, I figure i'd see if I love her as much as other Yeeps. Well, I definitely will be returning. Hillary is funny, takes the time to talk to you about your hair and concerns, and then makes her own suggestions. If you don't like her suggestions, no worries, she'll do what you want (just remember, she does this for a living, so maybe she might know better than you think).
