Joint manipulation, pressure points, and circular motion are the characteristic tools of Hapkido. It is similar to Judo in its principle of bending to an opposing force. It is different in the sense that in Hapkido, when the opponent pushes, one turns; when the opponent pulls "enters". The spirit of Hapkido is rooted in a deep sense of responsibility and compassion.

My 3 boys do classes and also love the camps here. Their behavior at home has improved as well as their physical strength. Focus, respect, self discipline, cooperation and leadership are main principles taught here. If your child is having a difficult time, the staff will work with you personally. I love that there are classes 6 days a week so that we can go when it’s convenient. The structure is great and promotes confidence.

My grandson started at age 4, he will be 6 soon. He is taking his belt test for his BLUE belt. I often bring him and love watching him. What do I like about it?
1. When he started he would sometimes cry. The instructors were/are WONDERFUL. Yes, some are better than others, but they certainly know how to work with young children. They are encouraging, supportive and understanding. I saw it with my grandson; I see it with many other young children.
2. They work on more than just the physical. To earn belts they have to work on things like confidence, respect, responsibility etc. They have to work

Though at times the classes have been really good, we generally found the curriculum inconsistent between teachers and as parents think our son's confidence has been harmed, rather than improved.
Brian and Dave have been great on Saturday mornings. But my wife, son and I have left Wednesday classes with Joe with tears and frustration.
My son turns six on in a couple months and simply cannot do what is expected of him and cannot keep up with eight and nine year old white belts. We enrolled him knowing he lacked not only focus and confidence, but is behind his5-year-old peers with balance and coordination

Great family enviroment! If you want your child to learn TKD, this is the place you want to go to. Convenient location and schedules. The instructors are top-notch. Master Hwang, Mr. Davila, Mr. Joe, Mr. Bernard, Mr. Ty, all of them dedicate a well amount of time teaching your child the proper techniques.
