Services
We stand behind our reputation and will continue to serve our community with the values instilled by our funeral directors. Audubon Funeral Home is a family owned and operated business established by Bobby J. Ducote, a funeral director with over twenty-five years of experience in this caring profession and local businessman, Chris Jean.
At our funeral home, we understand the importance of family. We believe in treating your family as we would our own. To do that, it's best you know a little about us first - please explore this section so that you may learn about our caring staff, our beautiful facilities, and our history of service.
Audubon Funeral Home was designed with the families we serve in mind. We hope that you find our facility surpasses your expectations and brings you comfort at this difficult time. We are conveniently located in Slidell on Highway 11, just minutes from Interstate 12. Our state-of-the-art facility offers over 12,000 square feet of space to meet your needs.
A loved one's passing often leaves us feeling adrift. While most elect to hold some type of memorial service, the breadth of options available can be overwhelming. We want to make it easier. We are here to help you create a service that befits the life of your loved one. This section contains useful information about funeral options, what to do when death occurs, information on writing an obituary, and recommended funeral etiquette.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation and is followed by a funeral service. While the casket is typically present at both these events, it is your decision whether to have the casket open. You then have a number of options for interment. Decisions also need to be made on whether the body needs to be embalmed, what kind of casket to use, what cemetery to use and what to put on the gravestone.

I wish there was a rating higher than five stars to give to the Audubon Funeral Home and Bobby Ducote himself. My brother and I were treated with the utmost respect and care when we were unexpectedly faced with planning my mother’s funeral. He walked us through every step with absolute professionalism and care. It felt like I was being treated like family. We did not feel pressured by Mr. Ducote to make any decisions at all. We felt we were being guided through this process with my mothers best interest always in mind. The facility has the most elegant, inviting, and calming look and feel. The

Bobby Ducote and his staff did a fantastic job with my mothers funeral. The facility itself is first class, it’s open airy and very lit up, no dark paneling. They thought of everything, they even have a room to keep children occupied during funerals complete with tv, books, huge plush animals and toys.
The real jewel here is the staff, no pushy sales pitch all prices are online, what we saw there is what we paid. We ordered extra death certificates that was the only additional charge. They handled everything from the memorial video to music to packing every thing up. If I had a question Bobby

As difficult as the road our family was walking, Bobby, Mrs. Millie, and the incredible staff at Audubon Funeral Home made our experience a manageable one. I say manageable because they made it clear from the moment we walked in, they were there for us! They were passionate in helping us plan a beautiful tribute to our sweet Katee. They took all of our calls with grace and mercy, knowing that’s exactly what we needed. Not one time, did we ever feel overwhelmed by the planning process. Every detail was explained to its fullest, they heard our wishes and planned a perfect celebration of life for

When my dad passed away at the beginning of January, my family and I thought we were going to have a full service and then a military funeral as my dad requested. However, getting all of the necessary paperwork and getting all of our family in town (and COVID) was proving to be difficult. We decided to have him cremated and have a memorial and burial at another time. Bobby and his staff had already embalmed him so we were able to see him one last time and spend time with him. It meant a lot to me and my family. We are planning on having his memorial at Audubon and then the internment of his ashes

I can’t say enough good about the way our family was treated by the family that runs Audubon Funeral Home. My Mom was treated with the upmost respect. Every aspect of her service was flawless. The facility was beautiful and the people were so accommodating. I Ave had first hand experience with the other funeral home in Sldell and will never go back. At such a hard time they showed us kindness and compassion at an exceptional level.

I can’t even begin to express how wonderful and professional Bobby and his staff are. From the moment you walk in, you feel like they are welcoming you to their home. You feel that they get it, that they hurt for you. From hearing the words, we have your mom in our care, to the grief on Bobby’s face when we all realized that a public funeral wasn’t able to take place. He always made us feel that we were all in this together. This isn’t a place that thrives on making gray profit off of your loss. It’s a place that thrives off of helping you heal and building long term relationships in

Bobby, Melissa and their family were nothing less than amazing from the time we met them, throughout the Celebration of Life for my husband. They are the most compassionate, genuine, caring, helpful, accommodating people. They helped organize the most wonderful visitation and services that were affordable. The home is beautiful and not gloomy, helping family and friends feel more comfort and peace than other funeral homes we have experienced. Everyone that attended has continued comment and compliment about how wonderful everything was. Thank you so very much! My husband would have loved it.
