Very surprised with the 4.1 rating. I have been going to Sol's for years. Henry at the front desk has always been wonderful. Great communication. Honest. I've never had to wait for parts. Often very busy so you might have to leave your car for a day or two depending on what needs to be fixed. I only take my cars to Sol's now for anything bigger than an oil change.

I called for this location for a quote on replacing my main serpentine belt, and the man on the phone scoffed at me and said "Serpentine belts don't break" Needless to say, they are rude and incompetent. Take your vehicle somewhere that knows what they are doing. My serpentine belt was shredded right in half, I would consider that broken. I am aware that it is my drive belt that operates with the idler, tensioner, and pulleys inside of my drive belt system. I was already FULLY AWARE that my tensioner is failing and I didn't need to be talked to like I was unaware of my vehicles needs. I am addressing

We were having a problem with our car, turned out it was the wheel hub bearing. We made an appointment the day before, dropped the car off at 9:15am, had a phone call with the problem by 10:45am and the car was ready to pick up by 12:25pm. I do not know a lot about cars and if this was just an easy problem to fix, but I am impressed by the quick turn around and thorough communication. Comparing prices online for this problem, they are also reasonably priced (at least for this issue). The gentleman we worked with was super nice and I believe his name is Henry. We also got a free pen! All around

I took my car in on Thursday for an overheating problem and the exhaust. This was the first day after a big windstorm and power was out all over the area. Henry told me what he thought the problem was and gave me a quote, but due to lack of power they couldn't work on it. They didn't get their power back till Monday, though they kept in touch to let me know what was going on.
When the repairs were done and I went in, I noticed they had reduced the price and asked about it. Henry told me it was because if the long delay.

I have just dropped a car here for a 'once over' and somethings I had concerns about. I'm new to Berkley, and I like to keep money in the local system. I generally steer clear of large corporate stores or chains. I feel the staff tend to be disingenuous at corporate stores.
From the opening of the door I felt comfortable. I know enough about cars to not sound completely ignorant. I grew up around 3+ mechanics/motor heads.
Henry greeted me pleasantly. He listened to everything I had to say. No condescension, cutting me off, etc. Henry was upfront about cost and I believed him

I went to sol's to get a windshield washer fluid pump replaced. The cost was reasonable. A day after the repair it stopped working properly so i took it back in. I wasn't sure if they were going to charge me extra to evaluate or pay for the cost of a new pump. The question of cost wasn't even discussed and I was nervous to broach the topic. After it was done, they were like "see ya later!" I didn't have to pay a single dime more. I thought that was extremely honorable of them.

We have been taking all of our work trucks to Sol's for over 10 years. Henry and the rest of the guys that work there are all a pleasure to deal with. Its hard to find an honest mechanic, but they've never steered me in the wrong direction. Professional service from professional people. If you go in tell them Goldy's sent you. Definitely worth checking out.

Sol's is an honest car repair shop that stands behind it's work. I always take my cars there and they are generally able to solve the problem. I had one repair completed there and, after a couple of months, the replacement part failed. I brought my car back and Sol's replaced it at no charge, no questions asked. Henry at the front desk is a pleasure to work with.

I have only lived in the area for a year and this is the first time I had to take my car into a repair shop in the area. I choose the one closest to my house and I am glad that I did. It was a pleasure talking to Henry and I am sure he was sick of hearing from me when I called him for progress reports but he was always very nice and let me know exactly what they were working on. I was quoted a price and when I went to pick up my car after the repairs were finished the price was less, which is always nice from a repair shop. As a woman I feel extremely comfortable going to Sol's for all

Wish my experience was as positive as the other reviewer. My car was towed there because I had heard that he was reputable. After the car was in several pieces I found out that my estimate was way too high for what the car required. I paid it and the car started making unusual noises within a couple days. I traded it in fast before I was stranded again. I won't be refering anyone to Henry.

I know a lot of people are hesitant to use Mom & Pop type repair shops for fear of being ripped off or getting "extra work" recommended. A reputation well earned over the years. But I'll opt for them over a dealer or Goodyear repair center any day. I usually like the service, like the friendliness of it, and usually the owners tend to be my neighbors.
