We believe in warm, playful hospitality, and details that make staying in our boutique hotel fun, in its purest form. Get away from it all and enjoy social distancing, naturally. Your MoonAcre Spa experience will be more individualized than ever. We've enacted Social Distancing standards and will limit the number of guests in our spa and communal areas.
You'll breathe easy, and so will we, knowing we're doing everything we can to ensure your experience is safe and stress-free. Grab Priority bicycles, ride along wine trails, pack a picnic from local food trucks, wine from our neighbors, and we'll help you find a spot in the sun.

Services
Designed by New York-based design firm AvroKo and inspired by the Great American Road trip we're like a classic roadside boutique hotel, but even better. We love activities that aren't so traditional, whether it's a group hike, alfresco cinema night, spa happy hour or annual fitness festival. Local culture is part of our DNA: we promote regional music, history and food events.
There's a pretty good reason why travelers have been coming to Calistoga for over 150 years to soak in the geothermal pools. It feels amazing. Our three mineral pools are all fed from nature's own underground hot springs; after a good long soak, you'll find that life feels way simpler, way easier. Post-soak, chill out by the outdoor pool with cabana beds and loungers.
Both family friendly and dog friendly, what the Calistoga Motor Lodge lacks in Napa hedonism, it makes up for in charm and quirkiness. This renovated roadside motel channels a modern, mid-century America, camper-van-chic vibe with fun touches such as skipping ropes and hula hoops for little kids and big kids alike.
The Camper guest rooms feature retro-inspired details reminiscent of a camper van, nostalgic in all the best ways. Choose from king, double queen, suite, and ADA accommodations. Our laid back, mid-century hotel revival offers a boutique setting to rest and renew, at the end of Napa Valley's famed Silverado Trail.
250 sq ft, sleeps two. Streamlined and beautiful. Detailed, not fussy. It's like staying in a great big camper van that's been tricked up, turned out, done right. Bold carpets, vintage-inspired fabrics, retro art. Everything you need, including a super-comfy king bed, a great shower, and nothing you don't.

I booked some rooms for a small staff retreat and the experience was perfect from start to finish. We worked with Sierra in the group reservations department and she was a pleasure. We had several last minute changes that she was able to accommodate with a smile. We had a lovely dinner at the on property restaurant as well as a continental breakfast the next morning that were both perfect. I will be back to stay there on a non work trip and would recommend to all!

If you see my review, you will be lucky. DONNOT choose room 414. This is my first time come to the hotel. I ordered it online and chose the most expensive one. BUT I feel very disappointed and angry that there are two big machine close to our room. We choose the expensive room because we wanna have fun with balcony. ACTUALLY we cannot because it's too noisy. Now it's 10:06pm. It's still noisy. When we check in, the reception told us the machine would be turn off at 9:00 pm. SHE LIED TO ME.

Nice balcony room, good restaurant on site, nice pools.
Did not love that my higher priced balcony room was right over the restaurant and I had restaurant patrons literally under me and bbq smell wafting up into my room.
Decent mid week price. Would not go on the weekend.
Overall, I would return. They have put a lot of effort into making this a great place to stay.

This was our first time in the hotel and probably won't return.
The rooms are cute, the restaurant nice but the management provides no assistance during the stay.
Our next door "neighbors " had a little party that started at midnight and ran until about 2am. Screaming, laughs, banging sound against our walls- just awful. The front desk was closed so we called the manager in duty , left voicemail messages... no response .
We had to knock at their door a few times to ask to keep it down - no luck and we had far from a restful experience.
Next day we went to the front desk to discuss

Sub-par Motel 6 at Luxury Prices
We stayed for two nights and our bill including taxes and fees was $1450,
Thus is what we got for that:
A room in a 50s motor lodge that had been decorated in a road trip theme. But the decor was minimal and not luxurious in the least. It really did feel like a bare bones 50s motor lodge. It was clean but very overpriced for what you get.
They do not clean and make up rooms daily or at all during your stay.
No milk in mini fridge for coffee, only those cheap half and half containers found in cheap motels.
Even the napkins were cheap, only two and super

At nearly $500 per night, it was disappointing, to say the least. The floor in our room squeaks with every step taken. We can hear our neighbor's floor squeak as well. The carpet is in dire need of repair or replacement. The stretch is gone and there are waives of bumps near the bathroom door. Talking about the bathroom, the toilet is in an awkward place. It's difficult to stand in the bathroom and close the door. The shower head is placed directly over the water control handles, so it is hard to select the proper temperature before getting soaked. The shower curtain is a joke

I am a well traveled California resident. I have stayed at the Motor Lodge in the recent past. Due to fire near Weaverville we cut our lodge stay short and booked the Calistoga Motor Lodge for a relaxing evening before returning home. It was easy to book online and our mini- suite was ready upon our arrival.
I am rarely moved to write a review but I was incensed by my front desk experience upon checking in. Moye was curt, inattentive and on the verge of rude. He was not busy. The lodge was less than 1/3 full. I asked to see the room, he rushed ahead of me. I asked if a suite in the wing

This review is for their customer service. Right after checking in it took 3 returns to front desk before we were able to enter our room. The first two tries they reset our key card but that didnt work. On the 3rd try they finally mention that our room was known to have a door lock that malfunctions during hot weather. They suggested we "block the sun" from the key pad for a while or put ice directly on the key pad to "cool off the lock" before holding up the key to it again. They literally handed me a bag and directed me to the ice machine. It worked but having to do that each

Came for a weekend getaway with my dogs and my husband and it was wonderful! Newly remodeled, clean, relaxed environment, close to town and reasonably priced. Excited for the restaurant to open!I wished the spa had space while we were there but they were fully booked. We definitely will be coming back soon!

We had a wonderful stay this last weekend at Calistoga Motor lodge. The room was spacious and very stylish. All of downtown Calistoga is in walking distance, but if you don't want to walk they have free bikes for use. The 3 mineral pools were wonderful. They have cute cabanas, hammocks and lounging beds. They also have fire pits and a goodies for s'mores! Very impressed and an affordable option in Calistoga that doesn't skimp on style and comfort. Thanks!

Fair warning to families planning to stay here with kids. This is NOT a family friendly motel - they will not let you and your children at the pool during the hours of 12-2:30pm. Literally the better part of the afternoon is adults only.
This information was also not provided by phone even when specifically asking about how the pool time is handled during covid (they sanitize once a day at noon) knowing we had children & wondering about cabana reservations ( they have no cabanas). Rather we found out about these pool "rules" in a fine print link at the bottom of a long email.

I agree with Phillipe and his remarks. Our room was actually tinier than a motel 6. Our room was right on the road. This road is very very busy until about 10 and then resuming at 6:30 am.
We were there 2 very long nights. I tried to upgrade as I got an email with an offer right before we got there. The front desk could not do this as there computers were froze and continued for quite some time. They were not helpful.
The pools were the best feature.
We will not stay again, pretty pricey for what is offered!

We were originally booked in at a sister property, but the manager there was able to switch us to this motel when we found the original place didn't have its spa working yet.
I was worried that was a bait-and-switch because the prices for the new place were much higher but, when we got there, we could we that it was worth the upgrade. Each 'room' is set up like a cottage, very pretty. Ours had two rooms, one with a banquette and extra television.
One thing that they didn't tell me up front is that, because of Covid, the rooms are not cleaned until after you have checked out

I LOVED staying here. It's in a great location just a short walk (or bike ride) to town with amazing views of the local vineyards. The rooms are perfectly styled and come equipped with a mini fridge, free snacks and beverages, games, and a hula hoop and jumprope. You can checkout board games and buy snacks and drinks from the office. The pool area has plenty of daybeds too. I'll be going back there very soon.

If you go in knowing this is a MOTOR LODGE, it is what it is and you'll be fine.
We were only here for one night (Sunday-Monday) which was fine for us:
- It is on the main street, but far away that it's closer to Silverado Trail.
- Bikes are available on the property for rent (if we were staying another night, we would take advantage of it).
- Bocce Ball court was in front of our room (that was fun), but we found out after that it needs to be checked out.
- Two of the mineral pools were open. The spa pool was closed.
- Lots of space to layout in the pool area (i.e., cabanas and loungers

I have been coming to Calistoga since I was a little kid, and also brought my kids to Calistoga every summer as they grew up. It is such a special Bay Area tradition that we have been lucky to enjoy. Over the years I have patronized a few spas and small inns in town - always a good time. This time we came to the Calistoga Motor Lodge because it is dog friendly, and looked okay at first glance online. Here are the pros and cons of our stay this past week - mostly cons:
Pros:
1. The Motor Lodge is pet friendly
2. The grounds and landscaping (not in the construction zone) are well done

My 22 year old daughter approached the receptionist about mud baths and the receptionist was snippy in response to her question about whether a bathing suit was required. We had not had a mud bath-- it was a reasonable inquiry.. Apparently, the woman changed her tone once I walked in the door. There is no reason to disrespect people, particularly young adult women. Customer relations includes making people feel comfortable and orienting them to new activities. I liked the prior descriptions of this spa online as small, clean and friendly. Instead we found it snooty and unwelcoming..

My husband and I had 50 minute massages at MoonAcre. Both our masseuses were well trained and did a fantastic massage. I was having neck pain and Marce, my masseuse, made sure not to overwork my neck, and supplemented with pressure points on my feet. My neck pain is gone! This is a small spa but clean, professional, and hip vibe. We'll be back!
