Sheldon Acres Child Development Center is a family oriented recreation and learning center for children ages 2 through 12. We provide an award-winning preschool program, quality daycare, before and after school childcare, summer swimming lessons and summer day camps.

Sheldon Acres' principal, Susan Glines-Thompson's, passion for children and 30 plus years of teaching has encouraged and enhanced the staff training to optimize the learning experience in young minds. Research based programs are used in our daycare programs to enhance and foster a love for learning.
Sheldon Acres Child Development Center has a 30 year history of providing educational preschool programs and quality daycare. Our mission is to give children the skills and knowledge to succeed and excel educationally. For example, our kinder readiness program prepares children using the same literacy program as the schools, so there will be no surprises.
At Sheldon Acres Child Development Center in Elk Grove, we focus on multiple areas of development - not just education. Our staff deeply believes in the need for pool and water safety for both young children as well as adults. Utilizing the private swimming pool located on our property, we offer both beginner and advanced swimming lessons for all ages.
Designed for ages 2 through 5 years, our preschool programs offer weekly theme-based activities that are planned to build skills in language, early literacy, gross motor, creativity, problem solving, social skills, science and inquiry based learning. Our preschool programs are fun for the children so they play to learn.
Sheldon Acres' Preschool Program is aligned with the California State Preschool Standards boasting a staff of fully-qualified veteran teachers. Our staff works with the students at their developmental stages to help them with learning skills and knowledge that will be foundational in their schooling.
