Compassion Animal Hospital was established by Dr. Lisa Gibson in May of 1991. We provide veterinary care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets. Through our sister hospital, Catlett Animal Hospital, large animal calls are available as well! Our goal is to provide excellent care to our patients and excellent service to our clients.

We provide regular exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, wellness bloodwork packages, microchip placement, nail trims, anal gland expression, and all the preventive care your pets need to live long, comfortable lives. With the ability to get many laboratory test results back the same day, we are able to get answers to many questions sooner.

If your pet suffers a medical emergency when our office is closed, we have several options in the area available for our clients. Our sister clinic, Catlett Animal Hospital, offers farm animal services and has a doctor available for emergency consults and calls 24 hours a day for your large animal needs in Culpeper, Fauquier, and neighboring areas.
Compassion Animal Hospital is located in Bealeton (Fauquier County) near the intersection of Rt. 28 and Rt. 17 (Marsh Road). We are easily accessible from Prince William, Stafford, Rappahannock and Culpeper Counties. Take Rt. 29 South approximately 8 miles to Opal. At the stoplight, turn left on Rt. 17 South.

This place only cares about money. Tell me how does it make sense that within the past 7 months of taking my dog to this vet, he has had 3 "physical exams" because apparently that is the policy. Each time he needed a required vaccine they did an exam but also failed to tell us beforehand. So 44 extra dollars down the drain without notifying us beforehand just to "examine" him. Will be finding a different vet clinic.

To preface all of this...My Shepherd/Husky mix has developed some pretty bad separation anxiety and does not like to be touched or messed with when he is scared and alone (without his owners). During peak 2020 Covid times I had to take him to my old vet in Culpeper who did not allow us to go inside with the patient at the time. My dog ended up showing aggressive behavior and the way my old vet handled it was really off putting - basically zero understanding of the situation and accusing us of being bad owners.

$1,000.00 Just to have my dogs teeth cleaned after I asked for no teeth removal and my dog just had his teeth cleaned in the last 12 months plus we brush his teeth 2 times a week.

That is outrageous! I contacted 3 other vets in the area and the cost is $350.00 to $375.00 and yes it was with everything except teeth removal.
This place is going to cost you a lot more money than any other vet in the area FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT THEY DO FOR YOUR ANIMAL. It will be worth taking your pet to another place because of what they charge. You have been warned. I just called today and

I called the office Monday because I was concerned my dog was having a side effect from his medication. After speaking to the Dr about my dog she had me worried that it could not be his medication and could potentially be something else. I made an appt and saw the owner Dr Gibson, who didn't seem to care about what I had noticed going on with my dog or give me any insight. Instead she basically talked down to me about my dogs weight and called BS on everything I said to her about his daily diet regimen.
