MEMHCA is Maine's only organization exclusively for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors [LCPCs]. MEMHCA is a branch of the American Mental Health Counselors Association [AMHCA], supporting LCPCs with education, advocacy, leadership and collaboration. Counselors believe that most mental health problems are related to a person's developmental stage in life and therefore are transitory in nature.

Services
A Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) is the Maine license given to a (unique) specially trained group of mental health professionals who have completed comprehensive trainings, examinations, and have meet all academic and regulatory requirements of the State of Maine Board of Counseling Professionals.
My name is Bethany Leavitt and I am currently serving as the legislative chair for MEMHCA. I am reaching out to you now during this critical transition period where we face both danger and tremendous opportunity. Today I would like to ask two things; how can we better serve you? MEMHCA has been offering an ever-expanding number of benefits to its members for many years. MEMHCA hosts a conference each year. We often feature a prominent speaker from the mental health field or invite professionals from Maine to present on relevant and exciting topics that are meaningful for LCPCs.
