Herman Brame Sr. was one of Portland 's early African American Entrepreneurs. He settled in Vanport after serving in World War 2 in the late 1940's. As a Barber and visionary he establishes Cherry St. Barber Shop. Later he opened Tillamook St. Barbershop and the current salon/ barber shop which has been renamed as Studio Six Nine Hair Design.

Herman L. Brame, Rickey M. Brame, Sandra M. Brame and E. Louise Brame - Spears. The Brame family is continuing to keep their fathers dream alive. Today, Studio Six Nine Hair Design is under the ownership of Rickey Brame and daughter Cher'e Nichole. The number one goal is to continue the legacy of a successful black owned entity and carry that legacy to the generations of the future.

Rickey Brame has always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and wears many hats. An Electrician by trade, Rick is also a second generation business owner which includes the ownership of Studio Six Nine Hair Design salon and Barber shop. He also operates a professional shear sharpening, sales and repair service for Stylist and Barbers.

I am a regular customer of Santaj and am happy with her services. She is a very skilled hairdresser, capable of a variety of styles. She's responsive and reasonably priced. She's one of the few hairdressers that offer full services including wash, deep condition, natural styles, sew-ins, etc.

I've been seeing Jerry Williams for a few months now and she is excellent! Very knowledgeable on all hair types, plus friendly and personable. The other stylists are fantastic as well and overall this shop is one of the best :)

I had such a great experience here. Jerry has a customer for life with me! I cried when I saw my hair because it was so pretty. She trimmed it for me and I didnt lose my length!! I literally could not have been more pleased. Please respect yourself and your hair enough to get your hair done here.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH Jeri was AMAZING! First of all ... I came in when she was walking out to end her day and enjoy the last of the sunshine with her daughter (a cutie by the way )&& she took me ! I was so grateful for that ! Second she washed my hair SO GOOD ... It felt great ! I have never felt fingers in my head like that ✨! Magic ! And lastly AS YOU CAN SEE MY HAIR WAS HORRIBLE AND DAMAGED... I have been cutting my hair forever to get it to look like this when I flat ironed it . I have NEVER got my hair to look like this EVER . So yes ! BOOK WITH JERRI ! You will NOT REGRET IT ! I feel like
