The good: Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Shower was clean and good water pressure. Fridge. No microwave. Coffee pot. Breakfast available until 10am.
The bad: no do not disturb sign in room, thus housekeeping will keep knocking on the door even though there are signs in the room and the elevator that turn down service will not be done unless you request it. They do allow pets so if you are allergic, don't stay. I could still smell dog even though the room was clean. I'm only slightly allergic so I just wound up with a sinus headache and congestion for the whole stay.

I want to first say kudos to the general manager for such a nice welcome letter sent before we arrived. Free and plentiful parking, great location with many shops and restaurants nearby in close walking distance. The inn has a 24-hour coffee station which is always wonderful to have. There's a business center. There's a really good breakfast area and they serve until 10:00 which is so unusual, and appreciated! I don't like eating early in the morning so this is huge for me. My reasons for not giving 5 stars are that the person who checked us in was not very welcoming. She wasn't rude at all, but

The location of the hotel was great. We were able to walk downtown and see everything and visited all the shops. Despite having staffing shortage due to covid, the front desk was more then happy to provide any needs you needed. The breakfast each morning provided by the hotel was great, plenty of food.

Hotel is outdated. Rooms are outdated. Room was not cleaned very well. Staff was not very friendly. I felt like everything was dirty. The bed blankets are practically non-existence. They are thin, thin pieces of some synthetic fabric that they call a blanket and the pillows spring back.
I would not stay here again

The only hotel we stay in is the 1863 inn. The location is fantastic. The hotel sits historically between the Union forces on cemetery Hill and the Confederate forces in the town. It's within walking distance to the national cemetery and right next door to Jenny Wade. The service is outstanding, The breakfast is very good. In the rooms are well kept. Highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Gettysburg. This was our eighth visit to the battlefield.

I want to first start by saying 95% of our time at the 1863 was great. But I do have to express my concern and disappointment. We just checked out and I let my husband check us out for the simple fact that I want to express this mostly in private. On Saturday morning 7/30/21 I noticed my makeup had been gone thru. While putting on my make up I realized my gel eyebrow gel was gone... I had JUST used it Friday morning. Well this started irritating me so I checked through my stuff and realized my iPod case was also missing. I had last used it when flying in. I knew it was in my backpack which I left

If I could do 0 stars I would. Very disappointed in the customer service. Came in for the night. Checked in and went to dinner. Never even saw the room. We had an emergence back home and had to leave. Requested a full refund after being told they were not full that night. Spoke to general manager who was abrupt and rude. She refused to discuss the situation do to the stay being booked on priceline. Gorgeous hotel but do to the lack of concern and empathy of the general manager I will never book with this hotel again.

It's central to downtown, but not clean and I won't do this again. I'm the first up to shower and the tub has short, black hair in it and the towel has a long black hair on it. Can't be missed if you were even pretending to clean the room. The empty water bottle under the bed could have been overlooked, but shouldn't. Can't change hotels because everything is already booked. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you're use to living in a pit.

This spot was in the perfect location for walking to many of the area attractions. It is a no-frills hotel, but it was clean, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was decent and they had a pool & Wi-Fi, which made my son happy!
Would stay here again if we were in the area for the price & location.

I'm at the conclusion of a two week roadtrip. My final night was in Gettysburg at the 1863. Disappointing way to end the trip:
*Bedding: absolute worst quality bedding -- sheets and pillows -- of the entire trip. Even low level Best Westerns have far superior bedding.
*AC/Heating Unit: again, the only place I've stayed in two weeks where the fan will not stay on all night as a type of white noise. ..which is desperately needed because:
*Road noise: the 1863 sits directly on a busy, load road. Half of the rooms face the road, and you hear ever car that passes.

Location:
This hotel is conveniently located to downtown and different restaurants and shops. The battlefields and cemetery are very close by. You can do as much or as little walking from this hotel as you would like and still experience a lot that the town has to offer.
Staff:
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Breakfast:
The breakfast is better than you get almost anywhere else. The all-you-can-eat buffet includes: scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, breads that can be toasted, yogurt, fruit, make-your-own waffles, breakfast sandwiches, juice, and milk. There is a wide selection and everything

If I could give this place zero stars I would. 2 day trip planned after my wife's mother passed and greeted with a hotel with no hot water for 2 days in room. Tried calling front desk morning 1 with no answer . Let it go and decided to just enjoy trip. Morning 2, no hot water again in room. Called front desk and they said since I booked with Expedia, I would have to take it up wit them. No even addressing my concern or disappointment. Then demanded maintenance to room which they said they would send someone. 2 hours later, nobody shows. We decided to check out without my wife getting shower

Solid hotel in a great location. You can easily walk to shops, ghost tour meeting point, tour buses and the Jeannie Wade house. It is an old school style hotel that was popular in the '70's, with all rooms opening to an open air hallway. It has been remodeled, and the rooms are clean and modern. They have hardwood laminate floors, which is good because it is a pet friendly hotel. I agree with others that the beds are not queen size; more like a double. There is a free breakfast buffet which had the standard offerings as well as the very southern biscuits and gravy. The downside was our
