As a military family we have moved several times. Our Catholic faith and Catholic education is paramount to our family of eight. When we relocate, our first priority is to find a quality Catholic school, both elementary and high school. St. Michael School in Annandale met all of our criteria of providing a quality Catholic based education with emphasis on STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Math).
All 7th-grade students must show documentation that they received the Tdap booster and the first dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine. There are no stock medications kept in the clinic. All medications for the students need to be brought from home. If you are sending in a class treat during the school year, please speak with your teacher before the event.
The Saint Michael School Parent & Student Handbook is updated annually. A committee of faculty works hand-in-hand with the administration to review our school's rules and policies and make any changes for the following school year. If there are any questions pertaining to the handbook, please email our principal Mrs. Fernandez at Annie.fernandez@stmikes22003.org.
In order to volunteer with youth in the Diocese of Arlington, one must comply with the requirements of the Child Protection Policy. It is all about being proactive in the quest to keep our children safe. Anyone with the potential of being in physical contact with our children, whether planned or inadvertent, must be fully compliant with the Child Protection Policy of the Diocese of Arlington.
Scantron Testing is the standardized testing format for the Diocese of Arlington. The testing is completed three times a year (September, January, and May) and the students are assessed in Math, Reading, and Language Arts. The testing is done completely online, which gives our teachers instant data to better direct their instruction and identify strengths and weaknesses in your child's academic performance.

I as well as my children have gone and still are attending St Mikes. I am proud of St Mikes-a school rich in history and academics. This school has beautiful history dating back to the founder, a WWII military Chaplain and his generosity for the people of the community. The current monsignor, Father Drummond and principal are the best around : ) Highly recommend this close nit school and parish.

I have sent all my children to St. Michael. Very much grounded in faith and academics. When they moved on to high school their St. Michael background put them well ahead of their peers academically.
Spiritually my children have a deep appreciation of their faith. You just won't get that anywhere else.
So many of the parents are involved, but it at lunch, playground or PTO, the volunteer spirit is alive and well.

My wife and I are duel military and over the past few years while stationed in Va we could not have asked for a better school. They have an awesome staff and teachers who genuinely care. We looked as several… schools in the area and we were content with finding a residence based on the best school in the area. After visiting several of the schools we came across St Michael's. As soon as we got there we were greeted by the staff and specifically Mrs. Maureen in the Fromt Office gave us a full tour of the school and grounds. She answered all questions and even offered information about the

I work with many children, never have I had someone talk to me like the staff at this school do. One occasion I was told to stand in a corner, the other the principal repeatedly called me a babysitter using it as some kind of derogatory statement (I'm not a babysitter, but how is babysitter even a bad thing?) and saying that I was a liability. Now the kids seem to like it but do they know any different? When the Prinicipal was talking to me like that I felt embarrassed that the children were having to see that kind of behavior. If that's how they act to me I wonder what they're doing with the kids
