We gave them another try, and we were very pleased. Our stay couldn't have been better. The views are spectacular and the room was perfect. The down side is the room and view are so relaxing, it doesn't produce motivation to do anything else. We enjoyed just spending time watching the dolphins and manatees. But, to get out a little, the state park down the road is a great place for a bike ride or walk on the beach. A wall north, you will find the beach relatively deserted and very peaceful. As for nearby dining, Flippers is nice, but a bit pricey for what you get. We made a drive to

Stayed in the beginning of July. This place was absolutely perfect! The environment was peaceful. Everyone you seen was welcoming, staff and none staff. Smiles every corner you turn. You felt like you were meant to be there. It was wonderful! We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was more than expected.. Spacious suite and beautiful balcony, every morning and night was everything up there with a full view of the beach, sunset, pool/restaurant. We stayed for 2 nights and was peaceful our entire stay. Wonderful stay! The place was clean, staff was attentive, atmosphere quiet and peaceful, and everything was well stocked (dishes, towels, etc).
Private beach, plus a restaurant bar in walking distance. Those and the national state park are the only things on the island - which was really nice, low traffic.
Close to the pier on the next island where all the touristy stuff is. Definitely recommend the higher level floors as the views are breathtaking.

The view was great, however, nobody ever told us that there would be no housekeeping because our condo was owned by someone other than Lovers Key Resort. This was never listed in any of the bookings or by staff in the confirmation emails. We only found out on day three of our stay when we were out of towels, only to be told that we had to pay the washing machines if we wanted fresh towels. I find it a bit fraudulent to offer these services to guest but not specify which rooms receive these services. I'm currently in the process of remedying this with bookings.com, but in the meantime, either

Enjoyable stay, staff made us feel very welcome. For the price,I would have expected more attention to detail in the room- there was some trash behind the dresser that house keeping missed, and the furniture and walls had some marks and dings on them. Overall though, the room was wonderful and had a fantastic view. If you want a suite hotel room and don't mind paying a little extra, I would recommend short listing this option.

Let me start with the few good things. The views are spectacular, Flippers is very nice and the beds are comfortable.
For starters, when we arrived, we were told our room would be ready in about 20 minutes. So we went to Flippers to grab a bite. We returned about 35 minutes later, only to be told they could not reach housekeeping, so they didn't have an estimate as to when our room would be ready. 10 minutes later we were told they needed another 30 minutes. Finally, 75 minutes later, we were allowed to check in - 1 hour and 40 minutes later than we were originally told.

Resort has no extra amenities. No gym no food service no room service. A single junk food vending and some drinks vending. Which didn’t take any 5$ bills while there.
Phone didn’t work in room and when asked to exchange with a new one, it never came. Anytime we needed something we had to go to the lobby as the phone numbers for the place were hard to find online other than the 800 number.
Clean rooms. Bed was comfortable.
Restaurant next door not affiliated with the resort and no breakfast served.
Pool is only 3.9 ft deepest. Hot

A short 2 hour ride and we are on the water in this really nice resort. 10th floor view really can't be beat.
Spacious with floor to ceiling windows and an awesome patio.
Everything you need is here including a really nice restaurant for the times you don't want to cook but the kitchen is a full one with everything you need. Also had bbq grills out back. It is by itself and only one picnic table.
Direct tv and WiFi were awesome. TVs in both rooms.
Easy checkin and access to everything.
We will be back!!

The front desk is nice, unit was clean, our room was 2hrs late being ready, being your own coffee because the coffee pouches they give you are like flavored water and the worst thing is the a/c unit was not working properly. We called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy up with a temp gauge...he argued with us that it was fine blowing 72...but was still 80 degrees in there after the unit was turned down to 70 and we left for 4 hrs after turning it down.....needless to say it was a miserable night. It didnt even begin to remotely start to cool off until 2am. I notified them on check

Wow is all I can say. We stayed there for 5 nights and have no complaints. We booked through Orbitz and got a fantastic deal. We were on 9th floor suite (not luxury ones) with amazing view of the bay. As others have said you see many birds and solphins galore at all hours of the day. Balcony was large and so peaceful to sit and watch the bay. Inside of apartment was spacious, kitchen had all we needed. pool was great, flippers on the bay restaurant was awesome for breakfast lunch or dinner! front desk person Michael was very accommodating and helpful. the beach across the street was great at Lovers

Rating is based on the beach-front restaurant only. I did not stay at the resort. The restaurant has a great view of the water. The food was very good - I ordered a chicken gyro and the chicken was tender, flavored with a bit of curry. Prices are what I would expect for a resort beach-front restaurant. No table service - you order at the counter and seat yourself. If it weren't for the no-see-ums I would have liked to hang out here a little longer.

I try to stay at State Park resorts as much as possible. This one is in a superb location, and in comparison to other state park resorts it is one of the best. Now, the one thing not so great about these places are the mattresses. They are definitely not known for the most comfortable and new ones. I personally don't mind because I don't like sleeping that much anyway. I prefer to get out and explore the area I am in.
