I'm Tara, of Tara Parekh Photography. I am a Washington, DC area photographer (based out of Alexandria, VA) specializing in weddings and elopements, engagements, family portraits, newborn, maternity, portraits, events, and more. Photography will always be a part of who I am.
I've been a photographer ever since I was very young and later in life became formally trained with a Master of Arts degree in Digital Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design.Additionally, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in New Media Publishing from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Tara is a wonderful photographer and great to work with -- she got some wonderful shots in a mini session of our 4-month-old daughter, who isn't the easiest subject to photograph! Beyond the quality of her work, which speaks for itself, Tara was very easy to reach and correspond with; she showed up early for the session and spent time with us to make sure we could get some good family photos. We will certainly be excited to work with her again!

We had a wonderful experience with Tara last weekend! We had a mini session out at Spring Green Gardens, and, despite the cold weather, Tara managed to coax out some truly great pictures of our young sons. She maximized our time, offering several locations and a variety of poses.
Additionally, Tara delivered the finished photos earlier than expected. She can also put together lovely photo albums, perfect to document a special occasion.
We highly recommend working with Tara!

Tara Parekh is great! Her work - the quality and creativity in her photos was outstanding. This was after having to accommodate multiple location changes and ending up with two photo shoots in two different places in short succession. In the end, we have beautiful engagement photos of our son and his fiancee. In addition, she was very easy to work with and made the engaged couple feel very relaxed and at ease. We couldn't ask for anything more....

I cannot say enough amazing things about Tara. She is not only an incredible photographer, but she is also conscientious, reliable and diligent. Her communication with me prior to my event went above and beyond, and the photos themselves exceeded all my expectations. Tara has an innate ability to capture the essence of her subjects. I was impressed by Tara Parekh's talent and professionalism - Tara is an incredible photographer and a fun person! She is easy to work with, and made my first time experience of being professionally photographed fun and comfortable. Tara took a variety of outdoor portraits and professional headshots in several locations around Alexandria - she was very flexible and was not rushed at all. Tara did an incredible job capturing our family’s special visit. We will cherish our photos forever! Tara’s photos from our wedding day were absolutely stunning! She was recommended by a mutual friend and after looking at some of her past work and reviews; we quickly scheduled a consultation and booked her for our wedding. Tara is the best in the business. She shot my sister's engagement and wedding photos 4 years ago and as soon as I got engaged, she was the first vendor we booked. Tara spent a lot of time answering questions about her services and was very good at communicating. She traveled from DC to Charlottesville (about 2.5 hours) for our wedding without any complaints. Her style of photography is unique and gorgeous. She captured so many beautiful moments of joy for both our engagement photos and wedding photos. Tara was our favorite vendor. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer to shoot our wedding

I recently adopted my dog, Lola, a 6-year-old English bull dog, and I wanted a few photos of her. Tara did a great job with capturing her personality. She was incredibly professional and creative, and Lola had such a fun time. Anyone who has owned English Bulldogs understand the complexity of their temperaments, and moods. I was surprised she was able to make her pose. Lola was a neglected pet for a long time, but it seems that these pictures will reflect in her new stage in life.
