Half of the dryers in the gates of ballston laundry room don't work and the leasing office won't fix the dryers. Its been over a month and still my dish washer isn't fixed. They say they will send someone over but thats far fetched.
I recommend nobody rent apartments at the gates of ballston. The maintenance service takes forever to come and fix stuff and they don't even tell you when they will come into your apartment.

This place may look nice outside. But they are poorly managed by AHC! I lived there for a short while in 2018-2020.
I still know people who reside there and it is not a safe community for a woman or children. AHC must have a contract with Arlington to allow clients from behavioral health. A lot of these people should not be unsupervised. Often outside screaming, drinking in the open where children are present, and attacking residents. Police do nothing and management turns blind eye.
They did good for a while, had security measures in place but when AHC took over, all security was removed. Don’t

Unprofessional and unfriendly leasing staff and management. Maintenence requests are never fulfilled. Communication given to residents about changes aren't accurate or up to date. The leasing staff needs to be more diverse to fit the diverse community of Gates of Ballston. Having an entirely Hispanic leasing agent team allows for stereotyping of residents and a lot of unneccessary miscommunication. I have noticed few improvements but there's a lot that needs to be updated in this apartment community

This place is absolutely disgusting. Since day 1 there were ginormous cockroaches all over the place (inside and outside the apartment). LOT OF THEM!!! Maintenance is a disaster! There was no hot (just warm) water in the bathroom and technician said it is what it is, they can’t do anything about it!!! Worst place ever! Health department must shut down this place!!!!

The apartments are alright since the price is the best in the area for the space and amenities. The community is predominantly young families that mainly speak spanish. Parking is free but slim pickings depending where your apartment is located. You only pay for electric and cable, and the units include a washer and dryer. There is definitely a trash issue in this community. Not enough dumpsters for the number of apartments. Often there are trash bags surround the trash areas. This leads to a large number of cockroaches and even rats that take over the sidewalks at night. If you keep your apartment

It's a decent/safe community. The location is nice. Repair requests are promptly addressed.

This community is advertised as smoke-free and there's even a community rules sign right by the door, but this is a complete lie. Our common/stairway area reeks of cigarette smoke and smells absolutely disgusting. The scent seeps into our apartment, and even makes its way into our bathroom through the exhaust fan. The neighbor below us continues to smoke like a chimney and nobody wants to create an issue with their neighbors... As an asthmatic, you continue to suffer and have your health

The community is great and all but the customer service and Maintenance is Terrible! I have lived in these apartments for a while now and it is very frustrating when you have to call several time and can't get maintenance to come fix problems in your apartment or switched to something new. The worst part is when someone finally comes in to check it out they do NOT fix the issue so you find yourself making the same calls again.

You will never get anything done in a timely matter and things will start breaking or messing up in your apartment and it wont be done because they simply don't care. period. Theres one maintenance guy that doesn't do anything and acts oblivious about and you have to break down what happened all over again. Time management is lacking the this apartment complex. Overall if you want fixing for issue due to things always breaking down this apartment complex is for you.
