I was scheduled for 2 appts over the course of several weeks. BOTH times I was given short notice the appointment needed to be rescheduled.
No valid reason why.
In other words they screwed up scheduling for 100% of my visits. I have a mission essential position and other obligations which makes this unprofessional behavior unacceptable.
Luckily there are many other vet practices nearby to choose from.

Moved to VA almost 10 years ago. We chose Hunter Mill Animal Hospital because their staff and the veterinarians are absolutely amazing. We take all of our pets and they love it! Dr Meredith Caldwell is wonderful. She is so gentle with our babies and she explains clearly the diagnosis and the treatments. Heather always greets us with a huge smile. She is so kind with all of us. We recommend Hunter Mill Animal Hospital a 100%.

A few weeks ago, my dog Simba experienced severe paralysis in his hind legs. We have been going to Hunter Mill for years. When it happened it was sudden so we called Hunter Mill and Heather answered my wife's call. My wife explained the situation and without hesitation Heather told us to take Simba to the emergency vet in Vienna. As it turns out that was critical to what was happening with our dog. The Hope center referred us to an "on duty" neurologist at Southpaws in Fairfax. As it turns out, Simba had suffered a spinal stroke that required immediate attention otherwise the result

I have watched Hunter Mill and it's staff take excellent, professional and compassionate care of my elderly aunt's 16 1/2 year old dog for years, culminating 2 days ago with the little dog needing to be euthanized (not at Hunter Mill). In particular, a shout out to the compassionate and caring tech Heather, and especially Dr. Caldwell, who had the unenviable task of honestly advising my aunt.
This animal hospital is first rate, God bless all involved!

We visited this veterinary practice a few times after we relocated to the Oakton area. Our experiences were mediocre but satisfactory. Today our impression of this practice went from average to very poor. I was at work and my husband was home with our dog who suddenly became very sick with diarrhea. He put our dog in the car and called Hunter Mill from a few blocks away. He was told that they were busy with an appointment, and were then going to close for the day! He called an hour before closing and they couldn't fit him in. My husband ended up driving to our former vet's office an hour

We love Hunter Mill Animal Hospital. We tried out several veterinarians when we rescued our GSD nearly 9 years ago; all of them were very good, but HMAH was more focused on the pet -- and more respective of the purse -- than the other animal hospitals. The service seems to be a little more personalized, and our dog is always addressed by name. At this point, we wouldn't take our girl anywhere else. ❤️

Overall, extremely pleased and very grateful for Hunter Mill Animal Hospital and definitely recommend to others. HMAH has cared for 3 of our dogs since 1999. We've received the best treatment from doctors and staff. Facility is spotless and pleasant. Staff is friendly and always remembers our pets and us. Dr. Caldwell is great with animals - so gentle and reassuring.

They always do a great job with my Fur Kids; a 15-year-old A.S.H. Tuxedo kitty and a 5-year-old Rescued Boxer/Pitbull mix. We have had various issues with our Senior cat, and learning about a dog over the years. While we have our personal favorites, the Vets, Techs, and staff have ALL been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, even in emergencies.
While we use a different facility for Boarding, we are TOTALLY satisfied with these folks.

Hunter Mill Animal Hospital cared for my two dogs their entire lives - 14 years. This is an amazing practice with excellent Veterinarians and wonderful technicians. They provide incredible care and always with that much needed dose of common sense. I lost both of my dogs over the last 5 months (Alex and Maddie) but both lived long, healthy, happy lives. I'm very grateful to all of the employees at Hunter Mill Animal Hospital. On behalf of my pups, thank you!

If I could give this place negative stars or 0 stars, I would (trite expression, I know, but so deserved!). The doctors are fine, though I didn't like how they rotated them and each of them didn't really seem to know what the other did for my pet (evidenced by when they called me and I referred to something a different doctor said and the one who called me sounded confused), but oh my goodness. The technicians. They are the worst and some of them should definitely be fired. They don't care about your pets at all and are condescending at best. Why are you condescending? You work in

They always call me to remind me that my puppy has a shot due or needs a check up! They are always friendly and they all obviously love animals to death! I picked a vet's office out at random and I could not have picked a better place! They answer all my questions very honestly and give you estimates on costs of stuff if you ask them. I love this vet's office.
