Dr. Lauren Ranivand and Dr. Melissa Gosline both started out as veterinary technicians and met while working at a local hospital. It was obvious early on that they shared a similar approach to working with and treating pets. They both quickly bond to their patients and want to ensure that they receive the best care and experience possible.
Fairfax Veterinary Hospital is a Gold status Cat Friendly Practice. The team at Fairfax Veterinary Hospital adores cats and wants to make their visits as stress-free as possible. We appreciate that cats have specific sensitivities and reactions to sites, noises, sounds, and environmental changes. We work hard to create an environment that feels more familiar and calming.
What does a Fear Free experience mean? It means a happier pet, a more thorough exam, and can aid in healing and recovery when an illness occurs. It also means a more relaxed pet owner and the invaluable peace of mind in knowing that your furry family member is less stressed and is being treated with love.
I, the undersigned owner, authorized agent of the owner or Good Samaritan responsible for seeking veterinary care for the pet identified above, certify that I am over eighteen years of age, and hereby consent to the examination of this pet by staff veterinarians at Fairfax Veterinary Hospital.
I also agree that after consultation with me, the hospital's doctors may prescribe medication for, treat, hospitalize, sedate, anesthetize and/or perform surgery on this animal.I understand that some risks always exist with anesthesia and/or surgery and that I am encouraged to discuss any concerns I have about those risks with the attending veterinarian before the procedure is initiated.

My fiancé and I adopted a rescue dog about 2 months ago that was sick. Fairfax Veterinary Hospital had an opening so we went and it's been the most positive experience since. Our pup has needed 4 visits in these short 2 months, but she LOVES going to the vet. The entire staff learned her name and seemed so genuinely happy to see her getting better each visit. Everyone working at this practice is truly amazing!!! They really care and are very compassionate. My dog hates even walking into a vet’s office. After not feeling listened to by our previous vet, we decided to take our pup here for a second opinion. We have a very anxious dog, who also has confinement anxiety and doesn't love small rooms. Everyone who works here has been so accommodating and understanding and gentle with her.
We ended up having a dental cleaning done, and a tooth extracted. Everything was very clear upfront in terms of what to expect, and day of went smoothly. Our poor baby struggled a bit more than normal with her recovery. When the team called to check in on her, I alerted them to some of the issues we were having

I recently started taking my dog to Fairfax Veterinary Hospital and they have been incredible at working with him. He has issues with general anxiety and their staff is extremely well equipped to deal with dogs like him with their fear free approach. I highly recommend taking your animal here!

We got a new “covid” puppy in August 2020 and selected Fairfax Vet after much research. I’ve been so pleased with the practice. We started out with Dr. Gosline and after a recent issue had to see Dr Ranivand. I was skeptical and worried but I can tell you there was ZERO reason. Both doctors are superb and so caring. They are now part of our family since they love Lexi as much as I do.

We recently adopted a cat, and I wanted to take her to the vet to get an exam to make sure everything was looking okay. After searching around and calling a couple places, I decided this would be my best option. Boy, was that the right choice. When I first called them, the lady I had the pleasure of speaking to on the phone was informative, professional, and so kind. It was our first time here but we really enjoyed it and we will definitely be returning. Angie the tech is really kind and sweet. She takes the time to listen to all your concerns. My dog Cheeku really liked her. He usually hates going to the vet and comes back super upset, trembling and shaking with anxiety. I've never seen him coming back from the vet so happy in his life. Today he was was wagging his tail, super calm, relaxed and free of anxiety :) This helped our car ride home go smoothly as well. I just loved it!

I've been here before and it was great. Lady just finished up a second appt and once again i feel confident of their capability. I'm removing a star from my review because of a lack of attention to detail.
Record of ownership was changed and that was mentioned when booking the appt via phone. Regardless the intake form was sent to the other person. Also, any notification they stated they made in regards to the concierge process went to the other person supposedly because the record wasn't updated (stated they didn't receive any confirmation)

I have two dogs. Chico has Mitral Valve Disease & hypertension which are managed by his Cardiologist. He also has anxiety which makes it unbearable for him to be in a car for more than 10 minutes. Jesse is a hearty Beagle who happily goes through his day sniffing around, eating anything he finds on the streets & sunbathing. I was really excited to see the sign going up for a vet's office that is close to home. The integrative care is definitely a bonus.

We have only been going to Fairfax Veterinary Hospital for a few months (2 visits in that time), but we have had a fantastic experience so far. At our first visit, because of COVID, they were doing curbside pick-up. The vet tech was so patient, sitting outside with us and feeding my pup treats to gain her trust because she was afraid to go in. They… flexed their policy and let me walk inside the lobby with her because they knew it would make her more comfortable. Once they got her in and did the assessment, the Dr. called and spoke to me on the phone. She talked to me for almost thirty minutes

The absolute best vet and staff we’ve ever had! We followed Dr Ranivand over from a previous practice because we were so impressed with her. She and all the staff here are so patient with my super anxious dog and do their best to keep her calm while treating her unique issues.They also have been amazing with my mini doxie, who needs a slightly… different approach because of her size and breed. We love Rudolph's veterinary! so far super good! they are very nice, send pictures and videos of your pets when they are inside and you can't go with them that makes me feel he is in good hands. the Doctors are very nice. Yes, the vet sent me this photo after I dropped off my dog who usually doesn't like vets. We are so glad to have found this vet, especially after my dog's recent surgery (more below). There are a lot of vet options the area, but I've never felt so taken care of with my concerns as I have here.

My 7 year old Golden Retriever, Lou, was born with Hip Dysplasia. Sadly, this condition worsens with age. Fortunately, Fairfax Veterinary Hospital is able to offer Lou a wide range treatments, in addition to medication, thus greatly improving his quality of life! They offer acupuncture, cold laser therapy, VOM treatment, and message therapy, which have made a huge difference in Lou's comfort and agility.
