NOT WORTH $300+ A NIGHT TO STAY IN AN "UPDATED" MOTEL. I wish I had stayed at a Best Western instead of blowing my money on a place with no privacy and minimum essential amenities.

Cons:
1) The app you use to check in is a total joke: doesn't work and is difficult to use.
2) The ear plugs provided by the motel are for a reason. We thought it would be a positive to be so close to State street but instead it was a total nightmare since you can hear all the people and music all night long at the local bars. NOT TO MENTION you can hear all the other guests in the motel at all times

I'm obsessed with this hotel and can't wait to go back!! It's so cute!! The rooms are so perfectly and tastefully designed, there are beautiful fire pits and outdoor games to play and a bunch of cozy spots to sit and enjoy the wonderful Santa Barbara weather. It's also in walking distance to everywhere you want to go.

It saddens me to write this review, but the management at this hotel are more interested in grabbing your money than making sure the guest is treated fairly. Their business model must target one-time tourist business with flashy ads and poor service.
I made a reservation for three rooms each for two nights. When I called the hotel to ask about parking, they told me it was $20 next door. I also inquired if the room was ready for an early check in, casually it was said call us when you arrive and if so then we can have you come in early. We arrived and at the front desk we asked if we could check

If it weren’t for the ants that were in our room, I would’ve rated Haley Hotel much higher since it’s dog friendly and nicely decorated. But there were ants ever since we first checked in. We kept trying to get rid of them but they kept coming back.

I had a little getaway and was super hesitant to book based on some of the reviews here, but I'm SO glad I stuck it out and experienced Haley Hotel. The room, albeit small, was perfect for me. Everything was neatly decorated, clean, and check in was a breeze. They do provide ear plugs, but they weren't needed at all. The shower pressure was low but the water was HOT and that is always welcome. The staff was very helpful in recommending places to go and added further value to our stay.

I was attending a beautiful wedding in Santa Barbara. Arrived on a Thursday and left on a Saturday. 2 nights total cost was $600. Plus $40 for parking and $15 early check in even though all the rooms were pretty much vacant. I would call this place a motel. The windows let in all kinds of noise. There is a club behind the hotel and the loud bass and drunken sounds of people will keep you up well past 2am. They give you earplugs which should have been a warning sign. This place is only worth $100 a night. Not sure why Santa Barbara is so overpriced when the quality is below par.

Great, dog friendly hotel in a perfect location in SB. The room was very comfortable and nicely updated as pictured online. Less than 10 min walk to the beach and two minutes to popular restaurants and night life. We will absolutely stay here again when coming to town.

Cute boutique hotel right on state st. They have comfy beds, clean, lots of amenities, bit no pool. Out door games, chess, checkers, swings, a fire pit.
They do need to improve their European shower situation 🙄 like adding a panel as water goes everywhere. Not really practical.
The first time we stayed here the fire alarms went off all night, which ended in the staff barging in and removing them from the ceilings. This time that did not happen.

I had an overnight stay here while in town for work and unfortunately, I didn't leave feeling like it was the most amazing experience. At first glance when booking and arriving, I definitely loved the general atmosphere + aesthetic of the hotel but had I read deeper into the other reviews I likely wouldn't have stayed here because I too experienced things others did. Check in process wasn't great... I got an email a day before about checking in early online. I tried over and over and it just kept telling me my stay wasn't valid. I had to check-in via hotels.com instead of the link Haley Hotel sent

Have been many times at the Haley and while I was very happy at the beginning, since the last year now, I feel forcing myself to like it. Yes, the location is great but (1) the staff is unfriendly ( the nice lady y from the early days is gone) (2) the room are missing at least a table (3) they have a tendency to charge for everything from early check-in (even if it's 15 min before 3:00PM) to late check-out, and whatever you can imagine in between. At check-out day, the housekeeper already knock your door early even with the sign hanging at the door. .. anyway, doesn't feel like home. There is other

The Haley Hotel is a really great boutique Hotel- lots of games, comfy hanging chairs, gathering spots, fire pit, and plenty of seating to just hang outdoors. Also wanted to say the staff were really nice and very accommodating. They really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The location was terrific too, close to State street and lots of restaurants.

We enjoyed Haley Hotel for our Tuesday-Thursday stay. Luz in the lobby was warm and welcoming and gave us some great tips on restaurants, beaches. The hotel is located very close to State Street with shopping, bars, and restaurants. I have the impression on the weekend this part of town is party central, possibly loud, which may or may not be what you're looking for.

This is what $250 a night gets you at the Haley Hotel. Arrived. Was given my key. Couldn't find the room because it doesn't face the courtyard like the others. It's tucked away in a corner next to the cleaning closet. Window faces a wall. Bare room. No closet. No counter in bathroom. No in-room coffee. (Purchase espresso in lobby after 8 am).

Park on the lot next door for $20. Pay on an app. No one mentions on check-in.

We spent $400 for a tiny room, paper thins walls, and just an okay experience. Don't get me wrong, the location is great - right on state street next to all the restaurants/bars etc. HOWEVER, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The noise from state street actually wasn't the problem, but we heard stomping from the room above us all night and all morning. If you're going to spend $400 + on a hotel just go somewhere nicer.

Ok so I was almost going to give a 4 star but changed my mind after thinking about all the extras outside and how close it is to the restaurants and bars. Like a two minute walk...so to start with yes this is more a motel than a hotel, but it's re done and more like a boutique motel. The staff apparently leaves for the night so there isn't any real service if you need something so plan ahead. We did a self check And the key is an app u can just lit up to the door to unlock it, so no direct contact with anyone. There is a huge ice chest with ice, there are extra towels and cups around

Troubled newish hotel, with a rude young man who was unable to recollect our conversation from five minutes earlier. As I was retrieving my card to pay for a room for that night (quoted by their phone agent as $203 after 12% tax and a weird 3% bed fee), our phone call was disconnected. I drove to the location, and entered the lobby to complete the transaction for my room, and the lobby was empty. I called out "hello?" and there wasn't an answer. I had to use the washroom for a quick tinkle, and there happened to be a restroom in the middle of the lobby. I was positioned on the commode

I'll start with the positives. The location is very close to a lot of restaurants and nightlife. The hotel is very dog friendly, which is the primary reason I stayed here. The staff was fairly friendly, though the maintenance staff and at least one additional employee (appeared to be either an owner or manager) were not wearing masks. The common area was nice with a few fire pits and games spread out, but honestly was nothing special.

Negatives. The room was very small and did not have any sort of table or desk (it was very difficult to eat in the room). They charge a $15 early check in

Like others have said, this is NOT a Hotel, it is a Motel that they repainted. Very overpriced at $400 a night for a motel. Rooms have no luxuries. I went during Covid and they said that was the reason there was no coffee in the lobby. You also have to pay for parking at the 99 Cent Store parking lot next door.

My girlfriend booked the place because she saw the price and thought "It must be high-end".

It is dog friendly which is why we stayed there with my dog, and they have a little fenced in dog area which is nice. It is also very close to main street with lots of restaurants and

I stayed here in July 2020 for one night (thank god). It would have been a really good stay except for the smoke alarm gone rogue.

Hotel is cute and hip, a remodeled former motel. Easy to walk to restaurants, bars, etc. Rooms were small but good enough for 1-2 people. They had lots of things to do in the outside common areas (outdoor games, hammocks, drinking areas).

The really bad part came around 5am when the smoke alarm in my room went off. There wasn't anything around that should have triggered it, but it was triggered. I tried fanning it but that didn't work. Finally, after about

Very beautiful hotel!. Felt intimate, it was clean, quiet. I was suprised not to see people outside in the courtyard playing or hanging out. Our room was very clean. I fell in love with the decor! Best part of it was the games like jenga, connect 4 with a Bon fire on the side. It felt secured once we found out the big entrance door closes at certain times. You need to use your room key to go in. The beach is literally walking distance like 10 minutes away. The restaurant's are walking distance! I would of given it 5 stars but there was no fridge or microwave so we couldn't take our

Not Good! First, this is not a Hotel. It's a re-done Motel. The rooms are plain and nothing to write home about. It's in a slightly dicey part off State Street. Some of the reviews that tell of loud noise, police incidents, homeless and being confronted by strangers on the street outside the hotel are spot on correct. The staff is not customer friendly. Nickel and dime on all the costs with parking in a lot next door - shared with the 99 Cent store and a very sketchy crowd. If you have a nice car, I'd be concerned. Very overpriced for what it is. We were very disappointed

To be clear, the Haley Hotel is not a hotel; it is a very nicely decorated MOTEL. If you go with expectations of a standard hotel, I think you will be disappointed (as we were).

Pros: The courtyard is beautiful and the rooms are nicely decorated. The front desk staff was friendly (Luz especially!) and provided great restaurant recommendations. The location is UNBEATABLE; you are a two minute walk from State Street and less than a ten minute walk from the beach. The area is very walkable.

Cons: Beneath a classy nautical facade, the hotel/motel is CHEAP. The walls of the room are paper thin.

This place looks really pretty and has nice fixtures, but the stay was awful! I stayed in Room #6, which is directly above the front desk and faces Haley Street. Not only is the road noise, and nightlife noise extremely audible... you also hear all the noise from the lobby beneath the room. The Bathroom window coverings are cheap white mesh and so sunlight beams straigh into the beddroom (through the bathroom) making it impossible to sleep without eye cover. The huge TV's seem like a plus, but they don't have cable and they are having difficulty connecting to the wireless internet. So

UPDATE :
I continue to leave 5 stars for the Haley Hotel.
There are a lot of cute looking hotel and Inns in the Santa Barbara area but Hotel Haley has the most endearing and friendly staff. So helpful and sweet.
Was so happy to return here for another nights stay a handful of months later!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise...
Boutique style hotel, with nautical themed decor and big comfortable beds.
You can tell the people that own / run it care that your stay with them is enjoyable.
The people at the desk, were beyond wonderful! We checked out earlier today and are considering returning

Well, I am sorry I am the first to review this Hotel on yelp, but it needs to be done.

I would like to be positive as I paid close to$260 to stay here.

Just as I am the first reviewer-this is also the first time I have reviewed while still staying at a Hotel. Yes, I am patting myself on the back.

I will proof read (maybe) when I get home and will post most likely after my stay is complete (because there could be more surprises in store!)

The hotel room is a king sized bed in a room and fully equipped to handle instagram. (vintage style cooler in the corner for a pop of color)
