The Gi Yu Dojo is a traditional Japanese martial arts school with specific focus in the Koryu Arts and Kobudo. Our school is located in Centerville, Ohio, and we offer classes for adults and children with strict emphasis on personal growth, physical fitness, and discipline. We have built a family of students and we are proud of the high standard we have established for all those who train in our schools.

The Gi Yu Dojo has had many different names through the years. Through these many phases, the dojo's main philosophies have never changed. Drill the basics over and over and make them second nature to your body. Develop students who are not just great warriors, but leaders with even better characters.

Chuck's training began in 2001 with basic Aikido and Aikijutsu and progressed into training with the Jinenkan Organization where he achieved the rank of Ni Dan. Chuck has his Master's Degree in Accounting and proudly served in the Army National Guard where he provided relief during Hurricane Katrina and was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Adults

Adult classes are conducted in a classical Japanese format where we focus on developing martial skills in Koryu and Kobudo. Each class is taught in a non-competitive, relaxed and friendly manner. However, classes can be physically and (sometimes) emotionally demanding. Like all Koryu Arts, the lineages studied at the Gi Yu dojo have been directly passed down from teacher to student through regular hands on practice.

You are more than welcome to bring your family and watch one of our many children's martial arts classes. If you have questions or are interested in enrolling your child into the GiYu Dojo please. We have a thriving children's program here at the Gi Yu Dojo that encompasses varying ages (between 5 and 15) and training levels.
