Some of the highest qualified instructors in East Vancouver, Camas, Washougal and surrounding Clark County area. I started wrestling in 7th grade and fell in love with grappling. I lettered in 4 years of varsity wrestling and ranked impressively in California state tournaments. Moved to Washougal in 1999 where I met Trevor Burnell (black belt Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu under Romolo Barros/Rickson Gracie) and started the journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
In 2010, I competed and won the western states police and fire games boxing gold medal. I was a defensive tactics instructor for 9 years with the Department of Corrections. I have also coached Camas High School wrestling and thoroughly enjoy coaching my 5 year old's tee-ball and soccer teams.

I joined Forge 5 months ago looking for a self defense class. After meeting Chris, I decided to try the women's only jiu jitsu class. Having never played sports or been a part of a team, I was extremely nervous walking in my first day. To my surprise, I was greeted with hugs and smiles and treated as though I was immediately part of a family. It was an environment unlike any other I had experienced. 100% recommend this gym! As a total 'newbie' to BJJ and someone over 40, it could be a little intimidating to take the first step. Not here. The owner, Chris, and his team were all very warm and welcoming from day 1 and the other members were super friendly and no egos. Been loving the experience and it is a something I hope to train for a long time even with these old bones :) Thanks Forge!

Our 3 year old has been going to Forge for a few weeks... he’s not the biggest kid and he can be a little moody like all toddlers... that said, the team at Forge is fantastic! Coach Chris and Prof. Ian are incredibly patient with our son and help him as well as other kiddos in their class get them most out of their sessions. They emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship and effort. I don’t have experience with their other classes but I can’t recommend them enough based on the classes that my son participates in! This place is amazing. Great workouts each class, personalized training to who is in the class. And smaller class sizes with very experienced instructors. They throw you right in and teach you the technical stuff in detail. I have come to about 6 classes so far, mostly boxing and BJJ and I'm in love.

My 10 year old son has been going to the kids BJJ classes for a few months now. He loves it!! The Professors are very knowledgeable, and great at helping the kids attain the goals they have set for themselves.
They work hard, and have a lot of fun in the process.
I would highly recommend Forge Combat Academy! They are very professional and very good at what they do!
