We provide a broad range of services for your pets, including wellness and vaccine visits, parasite prevention and testing, diagnostics, orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries, hospitalization, and medical treatments. My name is Dr. Lisa Thilges and I am the owner of Prairie View Animal Hospital. I grew up in the Chicago suburb of Elgin, Illinois. I attended Iowa State University where I received my B.S. in Animal Science in 2002. I decided to attend Iowa State University for several reasons.

I wanted to leave suburban Illinois and attend a university that was large enough to offer the opportunities and diversity that ISU has, but also had that intimate, small town atmosphere that Iowa is known for.I originally attended ISU as a Chemical Engineering student, but my love for animals drew me toward the veterinary profession.
My name is Dr. Jaime Stearns. I'm originally from Colorado where I attended Colorado State University. I earned a B.S.in Microbiology from CSU in 2010 and an M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from CSU in 2011. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I worked as a veterinary technician and volunteered with several animal shelters.
At Prairie View Animal Hospital, you can expect state of the art medical care for your four-legged companions. We believe in nurturing the human-animal bond and creating a harmonious relationship between people and animals. You can expect to be greeted by a courteous client care coordinator, clean exam rooms, friendly doctors, and caring technicians.
Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.

We had a quality and professional experience at Prairie View. Everyone we encountered was quite skilled at their job and very personable. Dr. Lisa Thilges examined our dog's leg injury thoroughly, gave an accurate diagnosis and offered several options for treatment. We were very pleased with our visit at Prairie View and will be regular clientele.

Loved my visit today! Dr. Stearns & co. took great care of my girls, and clearly were experienced with exotics! I’m always picky about where I take my rats for their care, and PVAH didn’t disappoint! They were incredibly knowledgeable about them and their care, checked for all the concerns I mentioned in depth, and everyone was extremely friendly. Lemon & Gucci say thanks!

I’ve taken my dog here since she was a puppy. Through surgeries and allergic reactions to a severe bout of inflamed GI track, these wonderful and understanding people have saved her life more than once. They were fully booked and still accepted her during her emergency and took great care of her.
I can’t review this place highly enough.

This is a review for Dr. Thilgus at her previous practice, in Sugar Grove IL. My dog had one full ACL tear and then partially tore the other ACL. She was on prednisone for IBD (prescribed by a specialist), which weakened her muscles and made her more susceptible to the tears. Dr. Thilgus was recommended to me by a physical therapist that I had found for my dog. She was absolutely wonderful and explained all of the options. We didn't have to operate on the 2nd partial tear. She was very caring and open to alternative treatment options, such as physical therapy before and after surgery. My dog
