Located in the East Passyunk Avenue neighborhood in South Philadelphia, Sermania Jewelry has become the premier neighborhood jeweler and has served the tri-state area for over three decades. We offer a variety of services, including custom design, manufacturing, repairs, and restorations.

All precious metals used to manufacture a piece of jewelry is 100% recycled, and we buy new metals from earth-friendly refineries. Our diamonds are conflict free and come from sources who are fully in compliance with the Kimberley Process.

Joe was introduced to the jewelry business at the age of 11 when he began working on Jewelers Row in Philadelphia for his brother, Salvatore Sermania. In 1981, Joe opened his own business on Jewelers Row where he did work for local jewelry businesses. In 2004, Joe and his wife Janice purchased what is now Sermania Jewelry on East Passyunk Avenue.

With a few pieces of jewelry in need of repair, I stopped in to Sermania to see if they could help me. I have a vintage necklace that I wear every day that had some broken links in the chain and a stainless steel cord ring with a missing end cap that made it very uncomfortable to wear. I did not need to make an appointment and was able to be seen immediately when walking in.
My pieces were evaluated and I was quoted a very fair price considering that both of the items are 24K gold and my ring was missing a diamond that I did not even realize. They gave me a slip and told me it would take about

My partner and I only needed to determine a ring size, but also got some very helpful advice from the extremely pleasant owner.
A small space but thoughtfully Covid-careful, and what seems like a great selection.
Although we weren't there to make a purchase at the time, we will return when we are ready to do so.

An amazing place! Came here for a ring and a urn necklace for my dog. I’ve had the ring for over a year now and it’s perfectly new. Every time I come Amelia polishes all my jewelry too! The family spent a while trying to open the urn that my dogs ashes were originally in and didn’t quit until it was opened. A truly phenomenal place. Would recommend all my friends and family.

I have an antique cigarette case From the 1920's that had a broken hinge. I have taken it to repair places in the past, but was always left disappointed due to shoddy workmanship. After checking with someone from Tiffany's (they don't work on non Tiffany products) I was directed to Sermania Jewelry.

Thank you so much Sermania Jeweler's (Joe). The workmanship on the custom design ring's were breathtaking. This little shop hidden in the East Passyunk Ave restaurant area is every womens dream. The pieces in the showcase aren't even close to what he can design. He has the assortment of halo engagement rings and cocktail rings. My husband wanted something classic yet a little out of the ordinary. To my surprise it was more than I anticipated.
Valentine's day isn't far off, so with that being said get there before he backs up.

I was in the neighborhood getting my nails done and literally walked into SERMANIA right off the street not know ANYTHING about this business. I was happily greeted by the couple who own the store and told them what my needs were. Joe the actual jeweler had on his welding gear and I could see his studio set up in the back (which was very cool!)
I spoke to him about what I was looking for and showed him my engagement ring. Without being the least bit pushy we started talking about ideas that would work and the price range I was looking

I had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience getting my watch battery changed here. The couple who owns the store were so pleasant to work with. They fixed my battery there in only a few minutes and it cost under $10. I love supporting local stores and this was a great place to go. Would highly recommend! And will be going back to look at Philadelphia-themed jewelry (LOVE statue necklaces, etc.)

Dropped in today only to get a watch battery on a pocket watch changed. At the time there was another customer in the store. The lady at the counter let me know that she had a few batteries they were changing, usually it would be minimal wait, but asked if I might be able to come back later. She said they were open until 7PM (a weeknight). When I came back in 30 minutes they were less busy and they did the watch battery change in less than 3 minutes. It cost $6.48.
