In my decade as a physical therapist, I've worked in a variety of orthopedic settings, from a community hospital, to small private practices and large chains in New York and Chicago. The diverse experiences that brought me here help inform my practice. As a young clinician, I completed a year-long physical therapy orthopedic residency program, which means I approach each session with clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills.
Pregnancy and the postpartum period are times during which women experience extreme changes in their bodies. Issues such as back pain, wrist pain, diastasis recti abdominis (separation of the abdominal muscles), and core weakness are common during this period. In some cases, these things can become dysfunctional over time.
The prices indicated here are for self-pay services. This means that your insurance will not be billed for services rendered. You may request a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible application toward out-of-network benefits. During your first visit, I take a thorough history. Then, I use a series of tests and measurements to make a comprehensive assessment of your body's movements.
Active Moms' Club helps busy and overstressed moms take back control so that they are empowered to live healthier, parent with pride, and lead their family by example. AMC offers prenatal fitness, small group training, nutrition coaching, and Chicago's most unique mom and baby fitness class- From the Core: Postnatal Recovery.
Alternatively, I offer the option to pay a flat fee-for-service, which I refer to as "self pay." This might be an option for you if I am not in your network, if you have a plan with a high deductible, or if you do not have health insurance. While using insurance can make healthcare costs less for some, in some cases you may end up paying more under your insurance plan.

I visited this practice for pelvic floor physical therapy after giving birth, and Alison was extremely helpful. I saw a huge reduction in my pain and other symptoms, and she was able to work with me to address my own specific goals (mainly being able to get back into running regularly, without pain). She also was very professional, and made me feel very comfortable discussing potentially embarrassing things. I'm very happy with my results, and still continue to follow the exercise plan she sent me!

Alison treated me for a postpartum hip injury and general low back pain. She is extremely knowledgeable and uses an evidence based approach to treatment. She thoroughly explains the plan and why she recommends various exercises. We saw continuous progress throughout. I will certainly return should the need arise in the future. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Alison. First off, her clinic is easily accessible with free parking in the city! Secondly, she was super helpful with easing my back pain as well as knowledgeable about the way the body moves. I was 4 months pregnant and was having terrible low back pain and was crooked. She spent an enormous amount of time understanding the way that I move and bend when doing things at home and at work. Her knowledge of changes that happen to your body during pregnancy was very helpful when selecting stretches and different movement modifications. She has a great passion for physical

I went to Alison with a long-standing problem of pain from a strained hamstring that had not been resolved with other treatment. I found her to be extremely thoughtful, focused and very communicative about her assessments and treatment pathways. Alison is patient-centered, focused on individual goals and really listens. She both asks and welcomes questions and I really appreciated her follow up exercise descriptions and videos. And I'm happy to say that working with her made a huge difference in resolving my pain! All in all, it was a terrific experience!

I went to see Alison to discuss a recurring pain in one of my knees. She was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She took the time before examining me to ask me questions about my habits and activities and to examine my posture and form of walking to help identify the cause of my pain. I am not native English speaker, and she was very patient with me. She is creative and adatapble. For example, she learned that I am a yoga teacher, and she referenced yoga postures to be able to really understand when and where I feel pain. After the assessment, she gave me a precise diagnosis

Alison is wonderful! I went to see her to work through postpartum related issues. She was so thorough and patiently listened to my questions and concerns before going through a number of exercises and movements. She explained everything she was doing and also delved into the anatomy of how these issues could be resolved. She walked me through the exercises and monitored me in order to ensure I was doing everything correctly. She's incredibly knowledgeable and followed up with many supplemental resources and recommendations as well as a detailed summary of the appointment and the plan going

Sought out Alison at PT x AJ for knee pain and weakness. Have been to many PTs over the years with no resolution. After a thorough evaluation, Alison provided me with a plan. This plan does not only include strengthening my knee but my whole body. This is the place to go if you are looking for private, one on one sessions in a clean and stimulating environment with a therapist who treats your body as a whole.

What a fantastic experience! AJ was very thorough as she asked many questions regarding my issue, inquiring about the history of my pain and what I have done in the past to rectify it. She walked me through the movements we were doing and educated me about why we were doing them. She followed up with a recap on the plan moving forward and sent an email with the exercises discussed. A very professional, informed and educated individual. I am already feeling better, highly recommend!
