I chose ATEX solely for their military affiliation since I am on active duty and purchasing in a state I have never lived before. Robert was prompt, knowledgeable, thorough, and very personable. I used this company because after talking to them and looking at their website they seemed legit. After moving into the home, we found that the roof was bad so our home warranty cancelled us. They provided us pictures where the shingles are peeling upwards. We also found a huge electrical problem. The whole fuse box is burned is causing outages in multiple circuits. These are all things that could have easily been found when inspecting the home. It’s all costing us thousands of dollars that we don’t have. I really feel like the previous home owners paid them to pass the house. Very disappointed

Robert completed an inspection of our new build home and did a wonderful job. I am at the new house nearly every day and he still caught a number of things I missed. And, most importantly, Robert was able to come out to the house and complete the inspection quickly on short notice and he was able to turn around the report same day. Robert has been a great help to us when purchasing a home. He will provide competitive rates which are listed on his website, so you will not feel blind sided by pricing. He was able to explain all the noteworthy deficiencies to a person who knows the bare minimum about what to look for. Even a few weeks later when asked a follow up question, he was able to respond quickly with detailed notes. We highly recommend this inspection company! We had a hard time finding the right house for us in the Clear Lake area, so Robert ended up inspecting more than one house for us! He is very friendly and easy to talk to. He explained any issues and recommended honestly if we could do it ourselves or if we needed to hire a professional. He even explained to us how to repair easy stuff. Robert was very professional and thorough! He even gave us a discount since we used him more than once! That was so kind of him and unexpected!!

I could not have asked for a better home inspector! Halston Welch went above and beyond to help me throughout my home building process. He did multiple phase inspections and always provided a detailed report. I definitely recommend this company. We needed an unexpected home inspection with a major time constraint. While all others were unavailable, Robert was able to schedule us for the same day that I called. Between our realtor and the inspector Halston (Robert's son) there was miscommunication relayed to my husband and I. We arrived for our scheduled inspection and waited for about 20 minutes and still no inspector. We then reached out to Robert to reconfirm appointment and were told that the inspection had been done a couple hours earlier (without us) as agreed with realtor🤔. Realtor was unaware

Mr Welch and Halston were a blessing to work with. We're on the verge of closing on a new house and we couldn't have asked for a more professional duo. Halston came out on time. Took his his time to detail each and every item that needed some type of repair or review. He was patient with our questions and explained everything, sometimes twice just so I could get a better understanding. The final report was sent that very same evening and I was able to send it to our agent right away. We had a home inspection done on our potential home we have in contract yesterday May 24, 2019. Robert came out and greeted us, very nice gentlemen and he got straight to work. We walked through the house with him as he inspected and he gave us lots of insightful information for my husband and I as first time home buyers. Detailed and thorough!! Robert and Halston Welch did an excellent job inspecting our soon to be new home. My wife and I are purchasing a new home and wanted to have are own inspection before the actually "walk through" through the builder. Robert and Halston did a detailed inspection inside and out; they found a several things missing, not installed, installed improperly on a NEW home. They did a great job! I highly recommend them for any type of home inspection.

I had my new construction home inspected by Robert Welch during the pre-drywall phase. Scheduling at the last minute was very easy and he kept in contact with me every step of the way. I had Robert from Atex inspect my house before I purchased and he definitely saved me a lot of time, money, and headache he inspected the house on a mid afternoon day by that evening I had a full detailed report with pictures to back it up. I had to call him and ask him something I saw on the report and he immediately knew the house I was talking about and had an answer to every question I had. Fair price for a great service.

We called him on a Sunday with a very tight deadline and he was eager to get to the property and provide us with a detailed report (photos included) within hours of the inspection. As we were making amendments to our home contract (based on the report), he was available to answer our questions and explain exactly what it was we needed to ask for.
Not only does Robert look in every nook and cranny, he also uses that newfangled thermal imaging thing that other places charge $200
