Don't stay at this motel!! Room did not look at all like the pictures. Bedding had missing top sheets with a flimsy probably dirty comforter, towels were like rags, small and so worn you could see thru them. Floor not clean. General up keep of property was very poor. People working there I have to assume we're good people who were poorly trained, told to quote policies and quote paperwork about leaving towels outside and putting out a maid service sign which we never got. Everyone in our wedding groups had horror stories from one roll of TP for 4 people for 3 days to bugs. So overpriced

This place looked super cute with a beach resort vibe. The rooms are clean but the bathroom was disgusting. There's mold on the wall. The shower lining was pink and the tub wouldn't drain, after asking the front desk to fix it. For $200 a night, you would think they could afford a new shower lining, functioning tub, and a completed paint job in the bathroom.

Soooo my boyfriend and I got this place for my birthday weekend. I do not want to be too hard on this place considering all that's going on with the pandemic.
HOWEVER!!!!! Good lord we paid well over $600 for 2 nights and the room was terrible. Sand all over the place, shower head literally hanging by a thread, moldy walls, two towels total, one roll of toilet paper, three pillows total for a king bed, flies in the room, etc. if you're going to call yourself a resort you should be better. Heads up there's literally no where to eat or shop in a 20 minute radius. Just a little disappointed

SKIP! sKIP! SKIP this " resort"! Pictures are stock, no way those pics are taken there or from the rooms. We paid $200 on a Wednesday night. It is a campground. Checked in, girl literally said, here is something, and this paper is something and I think this is a map or something and here is something else and tossed them to us. We are laughing by it's so bad, air conditioners leaking water everywhere, check into to this bad motel. Took both of us to push door open bc it was so crooked, we at least felt safe bc no way anyone can break in quick. Toilet was worse than a gas station

The campground itself is nice, on the smaller side, and good for kids. The hotel though is WAY overpriced for what it is worth. Our room had one towel and when we tried to call the front desk (multiple times) no one ever picked up. When we told an employee that we saw outside our room, they told us to go to the laundry room to go get another. There was no water in the room, the store, or in the fitness center. There were also no wipes or anything at all to clean equipment in the fitness center. The restaurant on site said it was open online when we were there Thursday, but a sign at the door said

This is going to be one of those reviews that starts with "I'm only giving 1 star because I have to apply some rating..."
After a week in this hotel while the rest of our group were in their RV's has pushed me to buy at $25K RV so I don't ever have to stay at the "resort hotel" again.
Where do I start?
Lets start with check in time at 4PM but our room wasn't ready until almost 5P. Not a good start. Its not like they didn't know we were coming.
Keys: They only issue 1 key per room regardless if you have 1, 2, or more people in the room. Trying

Trust me skip this hotel! We come to this area every year and this year decided to come up one night earlier and found this Resort. The photos online on the website are completely inaccurate. First, our room was not properly cleaned, the shower curtain had mold and hairs that did not belong to our family. The floors were still sandy. The halls leading to the rooms look like they've never been cleaned. The private beach was dirty with debris and garbage definitely not resort like. The pool was also dirty and lined with mildew . We left very confused and disappointed. Our expectations based

The Sunset Beach hotel “resort” needs a complete upgrade. From lack of simple amenities (toilet paper, coffee) to general unkept rooms, I can’t say anymore other than It’s just plain dirty. The bathrooms are moldy and dirty and totally yuck! For $229 night, I’d expect a bit more. The Jackspot restaurant food was actually good and even though our waitress was slammed, our dinner was great. Unfortunately I don’t think this review matters but it makes me feel better 🤣

We've been coming here for years, and we always stay in their Safari tent at the back of the resort by the pool. These have always been very affordable, so any issues we might encounter could be overlooked because of the low price we were paying. That's not the case anymore, and to be honest, this week's stay was the worst I've experienced. It's sad to say, but we will not be coming back again.
First, our Safari tent was filthy, and I don't mean dirty floors. Because it's a tent with a 2X6 floor, I expect dirt and sand, but I mean the last guests were just

So....this ISN'T a RESORT and the rooms ISN'T oceanfront. It's a motel with a RV park behind it. The motel is very out dated. The bathroom was dirty, still had hair from previous guest in the shower. The towels are dingy and the comforter had a few stains.
But...The staff is friendly and the sunsets are amazing. There's a private beach behind the RV park and a restaurant. The restaurant was closed during our stay and there isn't much to choose from in town. If you're looking for a short, inexpensive, beach getaway, this is the spot, but bring shower shoes

Let me start by saying I enjoyed my time at Sunset Beach. I also hate to be harsh, especially in these times. However, some things must be said.
The staff at Sunset Beach are super friendly. They try. I appreciated their smiling faces and warm greeting.
Unfortunately, the room standards aren't there yet. While the room looked pretty, it was no where near clean. Sand was everywhere. I mean everywhere. Our initial comforter was sandy and stained. Our replacement comforter still had sand on it. At the end of our trip, I pulled back the sheets to see what appeared to be spots of mold

The beach is outstanding, especially if you've got kids. The water is warm and shallow and mostly sheltered from waves by the sandbars. You can get a cocktail at the Jackspot and relax on the sand. A+. The "resort"? Nasty. I have stayed at nicer Motel 6's. It's super outdated and cheap, and it's visibly dirty (which is extra shocking in the time of COVID-19). I'm currently staying in this motel, I'm in a pet friendly room. The armchair has fecal stains on it. The toilet has feces on it. There was still sand from the previous guest in the tub. I've stayed

First off our door was cracked open and the front desk staff just told us that maybe the maid left it open and that was it. The room had a weird smell to it. It looked like the the rooms were remodeled with the exception of remodeling the bathroom area. There were flies and gnats all throughout the room. And the room AC was so loud that it was difficult to sleep at night on top of that 3 drunk gals were right outside of our room were talking all night. The shower was awful and had mildew/mold throughout (see photos). My friend and I def didnt use the shower. For staying one night it was fine but

Currently staying here and not impressed with the front desk service. They never answer the phone and lines are always long and slow. The beach is very nice and the Jackspot staff is awesome. However, the Jackspot is very overpriced. We are staying in the hotel which is really a motel and the walkways are atrocious. Housekeeping never cleans. There is water leaking everywhere and weird smells. We traveled 8 hours from Connecticut and this is not what was expected but we are making the best of it. The pictures are most definitely PHOTOSHOPPED! Stay away!I would have left but they have a strict no

This has to the most false advertised hotel if thats what you even want to call it, all the pictures they have posted aren't even the pictures of the "hotel" I stayed for 4 days and they only came to clean 1 day out of the 4 while I had the sign on the door stating
That the room needs to be cleaned it's ridiculous! And then on top of that they charged me another 250 on tops the bad stay saying they have evidence of me smoking when I don't even smoke ! I'm soo mad I wasted my time.... I'm writing this to hopefully save someone from wasting they're money. I

Wow! What a difference a few years can make. For the good! The first floor room I stayed in has been completely remodeled with new furniture, photos and flooring. Very nice and the new flooring is so
Much better than carpeting! The room also was welcoming to my canine sidekick. Complete with dog bowl! Nice touch.
The facility now is a KOA campground in addition to the motel. There is a bayside pool and camp store, bath facilities, playgrounds, fire-pit, and a nice fenced dog park area with benches.
The bay front casual dining spot has plenty of outside seating a small inside dining area and

This is actually not just a motel!!! This is an KOA RV campground with bungalows and 4 glamping tents.
We stayed in one of their new tent and loved it!
The beach is the best on the east coast,... I know you will think ,... what? But that is true! No smelly boardwalk, no parking problem, no loud rides or cheap neon stores here! Just clean sand, wildlife, warm waters, no waves. Ideal for little children, or just hanging out in a tube with a cold one. Amazing sunsets!!!!!

This place was so much fun! Jetskis and boats, ocean water and floats.... nice little spot to get away for the weekend. The Jackspot restaurant had live music with outside seating areas. Corn hole games and it sits right by the water so you kind of feel like you are on a little island when you're there.
Definitely a good time with the family.
