The owner did a color on my daughter's hair. She went to this salon because of the great reviews. The owner did the color himself. He had color all over her forehead, did not even know how to wash her hair. He put in four foils and did a single process and charged 100. It looks horrible. Not to mention he was watching TV and not even paying attention to what he was doing. He ripped through her hair after he washed it. She is too nice to tell him it was horrible and not pay. I tried calling the salon, and they do not pick up the phone. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. WHERE DID

I bought a Groupon deal. I saw the good reviews online and took a chance; and I'm so happy I did!
My 14 year old daughter needed a haircut for a long time. She wanted to have some layers for a change and Giovanni gave her an amazing haircut. She said it's exactly what she wanted!
The visit also included an Olaplex treatment and a blow dry.
Upon leaving the salon, my daughter's hair looked gorgeous, super healthy, sleek and professionally cut!
We'll definitely be back!

This place absolutely ruined my hair. I asked for dark brown and specifically stated”NOT BLACK”. My hair is now black and after over a month still has not faded. The only thing I’ll be able to do now is bleach it and kill my hair completely. Also they had the receptionist do my hair which was strange, she used her hands to rub in the hair dye and missed areas underneath so it’s blotchy. I’ll never go back or recommend this place to anyone

I got the Groupon here to do a haircut and loved it! It's one of the best haircuts I've ever received. Giovanni cut my hair himself. He spent a lot of attention and detail to styling it the way I asked. He listened carefully to what I wanted and he invested a lot of time and energy in the cut. I would highly recommend coming here for a haircut!

I saw George for a single process, haircut, and blowout, and Lily shampooed and applied a conditioning treatment to my hair. Both George and Lily are the nicest people, as well as great service providers. I love my haircut and color and feel nice and relaxed after Lily's shampooing. I definitely recommend and I will definitely be back!

OMG! I finally found a salon in Brookline I can go to now. Everytime I visit Boston, I will go to a new salon but I guess this is it. I will go to Giovanni from now on everytime I visit. I came in last minute without an appointment and the front desk lady is so nice to manage to get me a last min slot. I did olaplex treatment and blow dry and George did a great job. Everyone was so nice. The price is so reasonable too. When I move to Boston, I will sure be coming to Giovanni at least twice a mth. Thank you!

Beware! Do NOT use this salon for coloring your hair.
This salon did a TERRIBLE job with my color, and I am being kind.
I have light brown hair, no highlights. I went to the salon for a haircut and to color my gray roots. I specifically stated that I did not want the color of my hair changed.
This was a simple color job. It is a color job that I usually do myself at home.
1) I started to get concerned when no color matching was done.
2) I became even more concerned when the alarm rang to wash out my color and nobody was around and waiting for that alarm to sound.
I had to get up from my chair

First time today at Giovanni Hair salon and I LOVE the outcome! Asked for natural-looking, subtle blond balayage, and got exactly that. I also needed a haircut after an uneven messy haircut I gave myself before - and George did exactly what I asked for. Very happy with the experience and the result.

I spoke to someone about my request and was assured of a price (using a groupon) before my appointment two weeks ago. Upon arrival was told that price wouldn't work though I didn't mind if it was done well. I noticed my hair was not toned after bleaching. Final color was much more vibrant than I'd wanted and had patches of orangey color tones, but my stylist said it would fade fast so I hoped for the best. This was my first visit to Giovanni's salon and it was fantastic! I've never really been someone who writes reviews but this was an amazing experience.
He absolutely nailed the color and cut. While my hair was processing he fit in 2 other girls for haircuts and their cuts also turned out great.
Super nice guy to chat to. He hyped me up so much that I left the salon feeling (and looking) like a movie star! His prices are super reasonable for new clients, but I will definitely be heading back to see him again!

I used the Groupon and went in a little uncertain about the cut I wanted. I wanted maybe an inch off the bottom and my layers cleaned up. I said "my sister mentioned curtain bangs?" like a question and Giovanni told me he'd give me the best cut.
It's... shaggy. Lots of layers and feathering. The bangs are thick, and he lopped maybe four inches from the bottom. I've given it a week to get used to, and I really don't like it. I blow-dried it at home and it was a little too... mullet-y for me.

I hated my last haircut (got it in a random place) and always kept my hair in a messy ponytail. SOOO glad I found George. He gave me a haircut I'm absolutely loving. haven't been able to stop looking at my hair and taking selfies.
I'm very picky about my haircuts, George listened to what I wanted, and he considered the texture of my hair and gave me a lovely haircut.
I'm adding pictures with just blow dry and styled (I told him I like messy curly hair)

I got a Groupon for this salon so I figured "What have I got to lose?"...Turned out to be quite a lot. I asked for a "Golden Honey Blonde" and what I got was a dark ash. The Olaplex treatment was okay, but only lasted for that one week. The dark ash...longer. I was so sad, I rushed to CVS for a box of Feria and applied it the following week.
The operator next to me had the dirtiest hair I've ever seen on a human being. I was repulsed to see a hair stylist with such filthy hair.
I wouldn't go back to that salon, nor would I recommend it.

Bellissima! I bought a Groupon for a wash, cut and hair treatment. I showed Giovanni a few reference photos and he got to work. I knew I was in good hands when he said "let me dry your hair first, then I'll do the cut". Giovanni works quickly and with finesse, clearly, he has lots of experience and moves through a haircut making tweaks and changes in a way that really reflects his craft and attention to detail.
Giovanni is not for the sensitive-scalped. I personally have no problem with this; as someone with thick hair who has sat through agonizingly long haircuts in the past

I am new to the area and have been looking for a new hairdresser. I bought a groupon for a cut and hair treatment. It was very easy to book an appointment by calling in. I arrived and was seated for a wash right away. The hair washing and drying was done by an assistant but the hair cut and blow drying was done by Giovanni himself. I am very happy with the results. Giovanni did an amazing job!
In terms of covid precautions, I was one of the first appointments of the day so it was not too crowded. They also take temperatures before seating you. The hair dressers are all wearing masks and sanitized

Went in for a single process color and cut and was talked out of it and into doing balayage. I expressed some concern about it looking brassy but George assured me it would look natural. The color turned out fine but on one side the color was not blended correctly with my natural hair and there is a distinct line. The hair cut was good but I regret going along with the balayage.

The case of the Quarantine self-cut got me, and after two failed attempted at giving myself bangs, which left me looking like "my mom cut me hair" in grade school, I immediately took to the internet to find a solution. Luckily, George was able to fix my bangs. I got a groupon for Single Process Color, Haircut, Blow-Dry, and Olaplex Treatment. George and I decided for two tones lighter, but a natural ashy brown. Though not as ashy as I hoped, I am happy with the outcome and overall, am very satisfied. Will be returning, for sure.
