I received a Deva Curl cut and style, which completely tamed my mess of hair! My stylist was so sweet and explained step by step how to recreate the same style/look at home.

I normally don't write reviews, but as a curly girl who has grown to fear salons I knew I needed to spread the good news! Anita salon is it!! I felt heard by Kandace and like my hair was in good hands! We went for an ombre/balyage and we went over so many different colors and Kandice enthusiastically lead me through each step of the way. Their salon is full of positive energy and understanding of each curl type. I REALLY recommend coming here for an amazing cut/color!

The vibe here is very welcoming and accepting .
I just don’t think this is the place for super curly hair ( type 4) . The products weren’t the best for our hair types . The person that did my hair wasn’t gentle was basically ripping my hair out ,it takes patient with the super curly hair but she was in more of a rush because she had other people she had to do.At the end I was under a dryer she knew my hair would shrinkage why didn’t she tried steching it using certain methods you know…
I spent 50$ Just for a wash and go which turns out way better when I do it . I thought I would be

I received a decent haircut here. The stylist took her time and explained in great detail what the process of taking care of my curls should look like.
I'm taking one star off because my stylist did take off too much hair. I emphasized how much I wanted to keep it long, grow it out, and cut only the bare minimum. I was pretty surprised at how much was cut off. It was mainly around my face framing layers. I had asked for some face framing, which I interpreted as a maybe an inch or two wide of a "chunk" on each side. Instead, the cut was actually quite deep diagonally into my hair

I’ve been here three times so I figured I should finally write a review on how amazing this salon is. My hair type can go from wavy to curly spirals. Mikayla always does an amazing job of cutting my hair and styling it perfectly! She does exactly what I Ask for and it always comes out even better than what I expect. They use Ouidad products, which I love, and show you what products they used on your hair if you’re interested in buying them for yourself. Definitely the best salon in Boston/Massachusetts and I always recommended my curly-hair friends to go here

These two photos are taken years apart but the first shows my hair before going to this salon, and the second is the last hair cut that crossed the line. I kept telling the stylists that I wanted to grow my hair long but to have some shape. Every time I went it got shorter and shorter. And to color my hair was the same story, it was always an issue, and they never could capture what I wanted. The only stylist who cut my hair perfect was Antonio and Trent who both are no longer with them. Also, Trent colored my amazing. However, the staff is always changing and the quality isn’t stable.

I got a haircut here. I had a reference picture and asked the stylist if he can do it. He said yes, and I walked out with a completely different cut. It was like a pixie cut when I asked for a semi-long bob. It’s been almost two years later, and my hair is still ruined. The front is way too short while the back is too long. Maybe I just had bad luck with the stylist because the place seemed super professional, but I would not come back here again. This is the rudest salon I have ever dealt with. I went a few years ago and tried to make an appt but really couldn't get past the receptionist. She had the worst attitude I have ever encountered. She couldn't explain to me why the stylist she was booking me for was not on website when she had been there for years apparently or why I needed to send pictures to her ahead of time. When I called back to reschedule because of a work conflict she snidely commented "Again?". I had a hair cut by Mikayla on February 16th and she is such a doll! She hooked me up with the curly bangs of my dreams and her experience was very clear by her confidence with scissors and color. i just had the most amazing experience in the salon. Everyone was so sweet, stylists, staff, and customers all due to an amazing inclusive environment. So sad that I found this treasure right before going to grad school but I definitely will get a trim again before leaving.

Today I had a wonderful experience at Anita Kurl. My haircut was booked with Annie. She gave me a really detailed haircut, had great communication and I even learned some great new styling tips to apply when I'm styling my own hair. To top off my awesome haircut, Manny completed my look with some techniques that added shine, intense volume , and definition to my curls. We also had fun with some photos to show off the finished look. Annie and Manny are so talented. I really enjoyed my time spent at Anita Kurl, and I will definitely come back! Keep up the great work!

So it's been just about 5 months since i was last at anita kurl and unfortunately i have to write i'm disappointed. i have wavy hair and had came here believing that these are the experts when it comes to cuts and have experience with all curl types but mine was below that. i went back to my original salon that cuts my hair and was told my "layers" were just steps and underneath where my longest strands reached my waist was thinned out. i was given a very harsh sharp V cut that had 3 step layers, there was no blending in these steps and when the mirror was held to show me what

I can't recommend this salon enough. I am obsessed with Kandace! I myself is a hairstylist at another salon in Boston but I like going to see her and feeling like a client! She is so sweet, kind and takes the time to really cut my hair like I want. I leave the salon feeling like a new women every time and I get so many compliments from my clients and friends on how well my curly haircut grows out.

Literally booked my first appointment with notes regarding my hair and what I hoped for and was told only once I got there they couldn't do it because it's not curly enough (the owner has straight hair in the website..?)
Very disappointed, arrived a bit before my appointment as I was a new client and was asked to come back because they were having a meeting when it was 15 degrees out.

This review is overdue, but I was just thinking about it, so I decided to write it now. I went to this salon a few times, after having had Deva cuts while I was living in Philadelphia. I was excited to find a place that was Deva certified in my home city and I felt that they were pretty knowledgeable and professional. The overall results were fine, but I do often leave Deva experiences feeling that my hair looks and feels dry, which is fine because I'm mostly just looking for a trim and will restyle after.

It doesn't feel like an overstatement to say that Peabo at Anita Kurl has changed my life. I've had a big mess of curls all my life, and I've always tried to just "deal with" them--straightening, Keratin, frizzy ponytails, etc. I decided to try a salon that specifically focused on curls, and I'll never go anywhere else again. The cut and styling recommendations mean that my morning hair routine takes maybe 2 minutes, and when my hair dries it looks just as good as it did when I left the salon.

My sister came home with the dopest hairstyle so I asked her where she went. She mentioned Anita Kurl and thought I HAVE to book an appointment for a deva cut and style. The day finally came for me to go in and get my hair done. Mind you, I walked in nervous as hell not knowing ANYTHING. Let me begin this review by saying, I waited impatiently for over a month for this appointment with Kandace. The morning of, I followed all the rules before my first Deva Cut. I arrived on time and waited approximately 30 minutes before getting in the chair. I told Kandace my bare minimum length which was a little past my shoulders - curly haired girls will understand this. At shorter lengths, there is no telling how my curls will behave. Salon: The salon is very convenient if you plan to drive it take public transit. I came on a Sunday so the parking was free without a time limit. On other days you can pay meter parking. When I first entered I was greeted by the front desk person and checked in. I was offered water which was nice. The salon is very well decorated and clean.
My hair: I have 4b texture hair and have never had anyone with a different hair type do my hair. At first I was skeptical with Taylor but knowing she went through extra training through DevaCurl

I have a person I go to in my state (Michigan), it it's been 10 months and I was desperately in need of a cut. I looked on the Deva Curl website and saw that 3 of that area's best Deve Cut stylists were at the same salon.
