Recovering must mean reclaiming all that is lost and all that has been affected. This is what makes Water's Edge CHC different. We understand that recovery is more than creating a healthier relationship with food and body.

It means that the body is physically restored with a healthier relationship with food, the soul is equipped with the skills needed to cope with the hurts, stressors and challenges of this world, and the spirit is restored in hope, identity, and purpose. It means reclaiming all aspects of a person: body, soul and spirit.
Family-Based Treatment (FBT) is the leading evidence-based approach to help families with adolescents struggling with eating disorders. FBT is based on the belief that parents play an important role in the treatment of eating disorders and are an integral part of the treatment team. The aim of FBT is to equip parents with the tools to help their loved one recover and return to normal life.

Just horrible people care hiding beneath the "We're Christians and we care." There want anything caring in how I was treated in the end and it wasn't ethical either. The owner was involved and I have to believe she is part of what poisons the people below her who shouldn't treat trauma. They cause so much damage and you become the enemy when you disagree with them. It just about killed me.

Beware of poor and lazy business practices. Our insurance is not accepted by them, but they refused to provide me with a receipt for services that I could submit on my own to my insurance company to try and get reimbursement. Now I'm stuck paying for services for my son now that he's already established with a counselor.
The reason I was given is that my "insurance isn't likely to reimburse me anyways". That may be the case, but that's my business to take care of.

I was a client at Waters Edge for almost two years. I really loved it for the first year, and didn't really have anything bad to say about it. I did the adult ED IOP for a few months, saw an therapist and dietitian, and even saw a medication management provider. I LOVED my therapist and dietitian. They were such great fits for me, which I was not expecting because I have been through so many providers historically that were not great fits. However, after one year, everything changed.

My therapist was randomly dropped off the face of the earth, and out of nowhere I got a phone call saying

I was a patient at Water's Edge from 2011-2017 and I had a very positive experience. I did both their intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for eating disorders and the program for depression/anxiety. I found their IOP for eating disorders was the most individualized IOP in the Twin Cities (I have also done Melrose and Emily Program). Because it is a smaller program it tends to be more personalized. I got better care here than I did at any of the big programs. I have done their 16-week body image group twice (once in 2013 and again in 2017) and both times I found it really therapeutic and
