Easily the best money & time I've spend in the last many years.
Engineer here, never did any serious training before.
Started going in Dreamland with private 1:1 sessions not long ago. Training is just perfect and suited so well for what I wanted - learn some boxing, but also build stronger body & mind with plenty of exercises. Guys are great, have trained with Marc and he is simply amazing. Really humble and passionate about what he is doing.
If you are newbie and wonder if this is for you, just give it a shot - pretty sure starting will be much easier and pleasant than you expect. Overall

This place is awesome! Classes are broken down into two different classes.
Mon-Fri 4:30 p.m - 5:45 p.m and 6 p.m - 7:15 pm.
Saturday classes start at 9 a.m and ends at 10.
Each class has a different coach. Before starting at dreamland I always wanted to get into boxing, but was always discouraged to actually start. Once I arrived I was clueless as what to do. The great thing was the coaches can spot beginners and helps you with drills individually. This made me feel very comfortable. Members at the gym are friendly and extremely helpful. Been to a couple gyms in town and this is hands down my favorite. Everyone at the gym seriously loves boxing and that is exactly what I was looking for.
Whether your looking to get into boxing, perfect your craft or just get a good workout, you can't go wrong at Dreamland.
The owner Jesse and his wife Gina are wonderful people dedicated to the craft. All the coaches really understand boxing and always will happily provide some tips as you develop.
Can't recommend this place enough!

My son trains there and he loves it. The trainers are amateur or pro boxers and they have an official ring used for training and sparring. You can join regardless of experience or age and you can train every day if you want. The atmosphere is very friendly but no one will mistake this place for a McDojo. This is a place where real fighters train.

My daughter has been training here for over a year. She is 13 and wanted to try boxing. She hasn't chosen to compete yet. They have been encouraging her to do so, but she does not feel pressured. She has really learned a lot, loves the workouts and has been teaching me some techniques at home. The people are super nice. My daughter does not have any "friends" who go with her, but she feels very welcome here. They are NOT affiliated with a church, but are clearly caring kind people.
My son was also training here, but chose to focus on football instead of boxing.

Absolutely great !
People are very friendly thanks to Jesse, the head coach and manager, who is not only very knowledgeable but also a truly nice guy. Same goes for all the coaches and Moises, the local pro, who is extraordinarly cool and yet almighty on the ring.
The best place to train, spar and fight at your own pace on in one of the many classes, either alone or with the help of a coach or fellow trainee.

Dreamland is a great place to go to learn boxing. The gym has been around since 2004 and I have watched several boxers develop under Sarge's watch and compete at the national level. Most recently, they have an up and coming prospect by the name of Moises Benitez competing professionally. His story is a constant inspiration to the gym's members and a source of pride for our gym.
That's not to say Dreamland Boxing is a gym for only for competitors. The gym opens at 4:30PM and hosts classes for students of all age ranges and skill levels. Maria (the owner's wife) always says that

I Signed up at Dreamland Boxing August 17th 2013 after visiting 12 gyms in San Jose. Dreamland is a non-profit that runs two 1h:15m classes Monday - Friday from 4:30-5:45, and from 6:00 - 7:15. Classes are taught by active boxers or boxers in training. Classes are composed of an initial warm up (Jump rope), Stretching, Shadow boxing, Punching bag, Boxing Techniques (using gloves/pads) a final round of cardio and end with a wind down stretch.
Class participants include males and females and range in age from young children to seniors and range in talent from beginner to experienced athlete.

This gym is so much more than a cardio workout, but if that's what you're looking for then it can definitely be that. They do teach you footwork, punch types, strategies, etc. and yet treat everyone the same.
The coaches are all very friendly and open to coaching and use the classes well, helping those more experienced with improving skills and working with those just starting to not form bad habits. Although there are kids and people of all ages, you get what you put in and I've never not had a great day at Dreamland.
To start your first few classes will be getting rhythm

Great boxing gym. Recently expanded, so it is much bigger now and you can see the ring from the outside through a glass window. (You can watch people spar) Sarge and Maria are very helpful and the instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching beginners the fundamentals of boxing. Each class is an hour and fifteen minutes long. You start off by doing three 2 minute rounds of jump roping with a minute rest. This is followed by three rounds of shadow boxing. The rest of the class is led by an instructor. After the class is over, sparring is optional, but you must pass a physical and register
