I've been married to the same sweetheart for over forty years with two married children, four grandchildren and two dogs. I was educated in Christian Graduate Schools and in the School of Hard Knocks. As a pastor, I studied the Word in search of truths that would help me and the people I cared for overcome life's struggles and grow into joyfully functioning children of God.
I've been doing this for a while now, and I'm here to use my years of learning and experience to provide the help you need. There are lots of ways to do counseling. You can think of me as a life coach who uses life principles to help you solve personal and relational problems and enhance your ability to enjoy a productive life.
Christian Principled Therapy is based upon the Power of Principle and Presence. The universal Principles taught in the Bible and the grace that awareness of Christ's Presence brings are applied to the difficulties and conflicts you are experiencing. At this point in my career I have chosen to not participate in insurance panels because it pays less and takes a lot more time.
I'll help you learn how to manage the thoughts and emotions that get in the way of healthy living in your personal and relational life. I work with mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, anger, and shame. I can help with behavior difficulties such as aggressive anger, anxiety, and compulsions, as well as addictive behaviors.
Most of us enter relationships unprepared for the challenges that they inevitably bring. We lack the attitudes and skills that are necessary to create and sustain great relationships. Rather than growing closer together over time many couples find themselves drifting apart amid frustrations over unmet needs complicated by our busy and demanding lives.

Dennis Harris helped me transition after retirement from military service. He taught me ways to view my experiences with more positivity. Dennis more than talks, he teaches with white board drawings and diagrams. This allows his suggestions for coping in lifes ups and downs to be understood easily and recalled when needed. Peaceful calming office with convenient parking.

Dennis Harris is my first choice therapist to refer my patients to and the expert I trust when I want to talk to someone myself. We went from a very close loving family to almost strangers. Our oldest boys served in the U.S. Army in Special Forces. Our lives crumbled for lack of communication, walls were put up and trust was broken. As parents it was some of the toughest times in our lives to see our close family estranged.
