Our knowledge base begins with our founder earning a Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, and working 17 years in the home building industry.
A broad range of experiences in the industry provides experience and knowledge valuable to the home inspector: Purchasing (where you learn specific characteristics of the material used in the construction of the home), Construction Superintendent (where you learn the methods used to build the home), Warranty (where you are exposed to all of the problems a home can experience, and how fix them), as well as learning by working closely with Real Estate Agents, Closing Attorneys, Appraisers, Surveyors, Mortgage Companies, and all the steps involved in building and buying homes.

Pricing in the system is set with the assumption that all ancillary services are performed with, and at the same time as, a complete home inspection.
Colony Home Inspections-Carolina, LLC is based in Charlotte NC. We service any area in both North and South Carolina, within a 1 hours drive of south Charlotte. If you need an inspection near but outside of these areas, please call our office; we may be able to make arrangements to serve your needs.

I hired Colony Home Inspections to do a pre drywall inspection on my new construction home last year. Ken came out and was expremely thorough and knowledgeable. After the inspection, he went through the list with me so I could know exactly what to speak to the builder about.
Now that my warranty is almost up, I thought it was a good idea to have him come out and do another inspection. I'm so glad I did! He found quite a few issues that I was unaware of that are still under the builder warranty.
I was extremely satisfied and will be recommending this company to anyone I know who needs a home inspector

My husband and I chosen Colony Home Inspection for pre-drywall inspection during the construction of our new home. The initial inspection was well worth the cost and we received a thorough report as well as a clarification of the findings. Ken at Colony Home Inspection did a thorough and Professional job inspecting our townhome. Everything he saw during the inspection was documented in a report with photos and explanations that we could view on line. Then he spent 30 minutes on the phone with us walking us through and explaining every issue. We really feel like we know our new home now, and how to address every issue.
