Village Kitchen
We are proud of our great team - Many have been with us for 20 years or more. All of our waitstaff are certified in CPR as well as operating our in-house defibrillator. All of our cooks are "Serv Safe" certified. Serv Safe is a lengthy and difficult course involving testing on delivery, storage, prep and serving.

We are proud of our clean kitchen and always get top grades from State Health Inspections. Bob and Sammie (see picture above) demolished the old beer garden and used the barn board for the interior walls. The kitchen was very tiny and the dining room was heated with a wood stove. It soon became a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists alike.

Had a great Brunch here with my little man and a friend. Was quite when we went they way I like it. We don't like crowed places.

You don’t find many places like this anymore. I can’t see how anyone who comes here would ever be disappointed. Great menu, yummy food, great service, lots of smiles from staff in the kitchen, servers and happy customers. Totally loved this place.

No-nonsense restaurant like I grew up with. The food isn't highbrow, but it's comforting and filling. The service was great (the waitress even counted back our change! Nobody seems to know how to do this anymore) and our meal was ready in literally minutes. We will be back.

Just left, asked to be seated away from the door where it is warm and no draft. Seated us Maybe 15 feet from the door in the main walkway.
Unbelievable.. going to Village Kitchen, Moultonborough. Their Prime Rib is great,
half the price. 👎

My daughters and I went out for a Veterans Day breakfast, just us. We were told to sit anywhere clean. Sat for 20 min without anyone acknowledging our existence. It was not particularly busy, a few of the tables had their coffee refreshed multiple times. We ended up walking out. On the way out I heard the two servers talking, asking each other if they had waited on us, we were just forgotten.

Always fantastic service with a smile and awesome stick to your ribs food. Portions are great and the meals are always full of flavor. Definitely a great place to bring kids, basically the whole family. Prices are extremely reasonable.

HEFTY BREAKFAST HELPING

If you're looking for a hefty helping of the conventional American breakfast, this is your place. Big menu. Warped, wooden floors. Mountain views. Bottomless coffee.

The corned beef hash was tasty but was definitely canned: it lacked the meatiness and texture of homemade corned beef. The English muffin, potatoes, and eggs were all good but not special. The portion was not large, especially if you've been hiking, and I wasn't offered a coffee refill.
I would give it three stars except 11 bucks for breakfast including the coffee is pretty good despite the moderate portions.

I came there with my daughter on Father's day. It was our first time because we we're visiting from New York and came here before we went back home. The service was pretty good considering it was very busy and the food was amazing 👏😋

Small portions/overpriced
Poor food quality.
Fish chowder tasteless.
Cole slaw was rancid.
Chicken cordon bleu sandwich was a chicken tender, a cold piece of ham on it and an un-melted slice of cheese.
Ordered clam boat. Got 9 clam pieces. Told we only give 2 ounces for any of the seafood boats and 4 ounces for the dinners.
At that rate, they sell their seafood for $48 a pound.
Quadruple market price.

Cooks did not have any type of hair retention nor did they wear gloves while preparing food.

The State Health Department would have a field day.

Waitress refilled sodas pouring out of

We're in the area on vacay and have eaten here twice now. Yum yum yum. Everything is said to be home made. Our breakfast and lunch supported that claim: awesome fish chowder (just like our moms made) and wonderful egg breakfasts (great sausage and home fries-not frozen shredded hash browns). Interesting dinner specials. Going back for dinner tonight for the "Fork Tender Yankee Pot Roast" Good job FV!!!!!

I took a group of friends here recently, and the experience was so bad that i was embarrassed to have suggested it. The food was disgusting and, even worse, the service was the worst i ever experienced. The waitresses were rude, snippy and had the nerve to scold ourchildren. The experience was disgraceful.

I am a local patron. I have had breakfast at The Village Kitchen for many years and loved it. However, I think their backbone was the cook, Irwin. He is no longer there and neither am I. What a difference with him gone.

Absolutely the best breakfast place in the area! Great food, great service. I've been probably 50 times, and it's always perfect. If you encounter a line, don't worry - it moves quick.

Note that it is CASH ONLY, though they have an ATM on site.

What a great roadside diner! I had the bbq chicken tacos with slaw. Just wonderful! My wife had the turkey dinner lunch special. It too was great! Ate at the counter and chatted with the locals. The only "downside" it is "cash only".

This place is conveniently located and has reasonable business hours.
If you like plain, unsophisticated food in a cafeteria atmosphere, you'll love it here. There must be lots of people who like bland food - it's usually crowded and sometimes the wait line runs out the door.

In general the food is just average. Breakfast bacon and eggs are frequently exceedingly greasy. Usually the waitresses are moody, at best, and surly at worst.

After three different meals gave me an upset stomach, I stopped patronizing the place...

Stopped by here starving and excited for our first meal from backcountry camping. We decided to go for the tuna melt and the seafood salad roll with sweet potato fries. Although fresh, both sandwiches tasted quite bland.

Hopefully, the fried seafood platters they offer are much better. Our server was darling though - very nice.

Our family loves coming here for a hearty country meal that doesn't cost a lot of money. We normally come for breakfast - pancakes, waffles, french toast, omlettes, corned beef hash, etc. The food is fresh and delicious, and the service is prompt and friendly. It's not very fancy - paper napkins, plastic plates and plain flatware, but it's clean and a nice homey atmosphere.

Note: They do NOT take credit or debit cards! Cash or checks only. They DO have an ATM machine in the foyer though. Like I mentioned above, it's not expensive. It's in the ballpark of $7 per
