We met in May of 2005 while working in a busy restaurant in "Old Town" Alexandria, Virginia. After hitting it off, we spent a lot of time cooking together. Steven taught Liz to speak Spanish; Liz taught Steven to use chopsticks. Our love for each other grew amidst our shared love of preparing, eating and tasting all different kinds of food.
The idea for La Boca was born in those first few months of courtship. Year after year we expanded our offerings. In the spring of 2017, an opportunity arose to move our operation to a more central location on Main Street- a space that allowed for a small restaurant to exist as well. Our menu is a reflection of our histories, travel, adventures, and research into other cultures and cuisines.

We just had the most amazing anniversary dinner in our own home thanks to Liz and Steve. We set the table with candles, picked up our prompt meal from LaBoca. Ate by candle light with classical music. The salmon was cooked to perfection, bread amazing, excellent salad, and to die for chocolate mouse. The wine was perfect (a special of the week)A perfect evening. Thank you Liz and Steve

They make take out feel special. Things prepared perfectly to survive a ride home-- including a fabulous cocktail mixer. It feel like it's done with care and the food blows me away every time! They had lobster risotto this weekend and if they offer it again I'm getting more than one entree to freeze one. Fantastic! This is restaurant is a must-do in W'boro!

We couldn’t have been more happy with our experience with La Boca’s meal pickup during the pandemic. The entire transaction was seamless and so well thought out from the online payments to the pickup time slots. Being high risk, it’s the only place in town we have no hesitations eating from. Not only was the food still steamy hot by the time we got home, but it was (obviously) multitudes better than (our) home cooking. An added bonus, all of the containers were eco friendly! Couldn’t have been better! Looking forward to my lunch leftovers tomorrow 🤤

Still offering takeout a few days of the week. Aside from Lydia's Cafe and a few breakfast spots in Wolfeboro and Garwoods, most restaurants are only open Thursdays through Saturdays during the winter.
Pizza and sandwich restaurants remain open.
Nolan's and other pizza restaurants are still ongoing.

This is by far the best of the best!! Liz and Steven are expert chefs, and their food is consistently excellent!! Liz recently won the Iron Chef award in the local competition, and there is no doubt why!! Dinners are gourmet delights, and they also serve lunch, featuring sandwiches to die for, quiche and a Kale Caesar salad that is beyond perfect!!
In the summer, you can sit on the deck and enjoy the weather. They have "mocktails" for anyone who prefers a non-alcoholic drink, and they are SO good. You can also visit the bakery downstairs, and have pastries and croissants that rival any I've had

Very good food and service. We were seated quickly without a reservation on a Wednesday evening in July, but I think we were lucky in our timing. Next time we'll make a reservation to make sure we don't get turned away. The menu is not extensive, but the dishes they serve they do well. There were families with small children there, so they may have a children's menu, but really this felt like an ideal place for a couple looking for a good meal with some drinks.

Really like this place. I did not just eat here but have at least 3 times this summer.
It is similar to meals I have had in Europe.
Tastefully done recipes presented simply. What you get is not over salted but prepared so the main ingredients stand out.
I recall the Gnocchi I had served in a broth. Light and delicious. Usually you see this in a cream.
They have a bakery on site so enjoy the bread.

Really a major disappointment during a Sunday lunch visit, after we had high hopes. Service was slow all around despite a very sparse crowd. No kids menus (which is odd in a vacation town), and very limited ability to wing it on some options. My wife got a mediocre salad, and when she ordered the $9 upcharge of shrimp, she got ... three. The menu looked interesting, but the execution was just off all around. I think our entire multi generational party of seven left dissatisfied. What a shame.
I had read all the glowing reviews. Maybe they're much better at dinner.

In an area where your average fare is standard burgers and mediocore fried food, this restaurant is a beacon of light.
With everything from greens from their own gardens to fresh squeezed lime juice for fancy cocktails, La Boca delivers gourmet food and drink without the outragious price tag of most places like it.
Our server was wonderful as was the entire staff! We've been here a week, best meal in Wolfeboro yet!!!

The food is unique, and the menu it's everb changing. We had the Vegetarian Green Curry, and the Lemon Caper Salmon.
The vegetarian green curry was tasty and not spicy, really liked it. The serving on the salmon was small for $23 but perfectly prepared. We tried the rhubarb/apple soda... It was fun & tasty.
We finished with the white peach and blubbery bread pudding. It was so scrumptious!
We tasted foods here that we probably won't find anywhere else in the area.
As a touch of class, the owner stopped by to ask about our meals. The restaurant is small highly recommend reservations

What a treat right here in town! We smwent Wednesday evening - make reservations! - and it was the first evening of the Passport Menu.
This week it was Southeast Asia tastes. In addition to its à la carte - the price fixed Passport menu gives you fabulous options of beef or beautiful shrimp within the main dishes.
Flavors were wonderful and choices were wide ranging.
One criticism was the peanut sauce for the chicken saté. It just wasn't as addictive tasting as the peanut sauces I've had or made. And the chicken skewers were not warm and a bit mushy. I would have rather waited longer
