THE BARN, established in 1981 our rustic-chic restaurant and banquet facility has been one of the favorite destination restaurants in SW Wisconsin ever since. Come see why Discover Wisconsin chose to feature THE BARN when they visited Prairie du Chien, in 2017. The most unique atmosphere in the second oldest city in Wisconsin.
The Barn has never-ending charm and atmosphere. We inspire our customers with curiosity as our spacious restaurant seems to go on and on. The wandering customer can easily discover a new nook and cranny of the restaurant or grounds during almost every visit. What special event doesn't deserve the best food, and beverages.

Had a reservation for 4 and arrived 30 minutes early to find the place closed with no lights on. Called the business to get a recording saying that they were closed due to a Covid-19 outbreak. We drove from 3 hours away to have a holiday dinner with family and no one contacted us to let us know they would be closed. We’ve been to this place before and enjoyed it which is why I’m still giving it 3 stars, but really disappointed they didn’t contact their guest list. We had to scramble to find another restaurant that could squeeze us in.

The prime rib, twice baked potato and soup/salad bar was excellent. We had reservations and when checked in and seated they forgot to assign a server so we waited about 15 minutes then went to ask but they bought our first round of old fashioned cocktails so we didn’t mind. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. The server was super-friendly and gave great recommendations.

We had a great waitress. Salad bar was excellent. The best was their Pepper Jack Chicken Soup. We live 3 hours away so I can't just go and buy some. I tried several recipes to replicate. None came even close.
Food was also reasonable priced. Venue (an old barn) was very cool. Would highly recommend.

The lightly bread cod was phenomenal. If you like fried fish at all, you'll love this. The fish wasn't greasy or overcooked. So flakey and moist. Malted vinegar for the steak fries was the only thing missing. They might has had it available, but I was so enjoying the fish, I forgot to ask.
The wait staff was friendly and attentive.
I don't know when, but I will be back.
