Our school is the result of the efforts of Professor Mike Buckels, a 2nd Degree Black Belt under Marcio Feitosa and Master Carlos Gracie Jr. We offer world-class level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for individuals, families, and Law Enforcement officials of West County and is a reference for fitness, character development, self-defense, martial arts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for the communities of West County, St. Louis, and O'Fallon.
Our West County kid's martial arts classes are available to 4-6 year-olds, 7-9 year-olds, and are an engaging, welcoming, and safe way to introduce children to Jiu-Jitsu! Gracie Barra's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes were created to help kids develop confidence, respect, and happiness. Our instructors cater to the individual needs of each student and our classroom environments are fun and inviting.
I was introduced to Gracie Barra through a chance encounter with Mike Buckels. During our conversation he indicated that professer Jake was an excellent instructor and that jiu jitsu may be beneficial for my 5 year old son. I think he was correct on both counts. I couldn't be more pleased with all aspects of our experience at GBWC.
Deciding to invest in martial arts classes for your child is an important choice to make. The program your child chooses to participate in should properly teach them the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with an emphasis on values to use in their daily lives. Unlike most traditional martial arts school, Gracie Barra West County takes on a deep-rooted approach to a child's development.

One of the best things I could have ever done for my daughter was put her into JJ. Not only is she learning a ton, she has built a strong confidence in herself that she didn't have going into the sport.
Professor Jake is AMAZING, and is great with the kids. We love Gracie Barra JJ and the West Country location is the best!
