ATA Martial Arts
We are enrolling new students everyday for adult and kids ATA Taekwondo training sessions, and give a lot of attention to persons with Special Abilities. The Tiny Tiger program was developed specifically for toddlers / preschool age children ages 3 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline.

Adults will find that he or she will have more energy, a great way to release tension/stress and lose weight through a Cross Training approach. This is an amazing tool to assist with your confidence, discipline and focus through our St. Ann ATA Martial Art training sessions! The greatest bonus of all is that you achieve all these wonderful adventures while having FUN!
Services
Ms. Cather is certified in the areas of Special Education (Behavior Disorder, Learning Disabled and Mental Retardation), Physical Education and Special Reading. Ms. Cather has been teaching since 1992. The training that she has received allows her to provide instruction to each student at his or her level by focusing on their strengths.
One of our Jr. Instructors (and student) Arthur McCarver is training hard every day to compete at Worlds in July. This will be Mr. McCarver's second time competing on this stage. While at the competition, Mr. McCarver fiercely competed in sparring, weapons, and forms. His hard work paid off when he took 1st place in his level for forms, 2nd in sparring, and finally 3rd place in weapons.

Our son has been taking classes since June 2019 and we could not be happier with his progress! Ms. Cather and her staff go above and beyond and has helped our son develop not only his martial art skills but boosted his confidence and leadership abilities. We would have been totally lost without their guidance and zoom classes during the pandemic. We will be forever grateful to Ms. Cather and her wonderful team. You all are amazing!

I have two children in ATA Bridgeton, both at different belts. The instructors are great about tailoring their teaching methods for different skill levels. My kids’ confidence level have increased immeasurably. They have learned respect and accountability. The instructors, especially the junior instructors are always welcoming, inclusive, and eager to help. I highly recommend ATA Bridgeton, especially if you have a child that might need to come out of their shell a little bit.

I have been a part of this ATA family since 2010. Through the patient and professional instruction from all of the instructors and the leadership of our Chief Instructor Master Joan Cather I have accomplished tasks that I would never had imagine. Through my experience I have reached the level of a second degree blackbelt, as well as becoming a World Champion in forms, weapons, sparring, and combat sparring. I have been able to transfer my Taekwondo teaching experience into my professional life as well. More than gaining Martial Art training I am now part of a family that I know will be there whenever

I was a student there, I don't know how to spell her name but one of the instructors there grabbed my sister's wrists even though my sister said no, and then she tried to gaslight my mom and say it didn't happen. Apparently they aren't teaching us some basic things we are supposed to do anyways. Gonna miss the students there but we're not going back.

ATA Martial Arts St. Ann is the BEST!!!! My sons agility, stability and confidence have grown so much since he started. We brought him because he wanted to be a ninja. Now he wants to be a Black Belt. The owner, instructors and staff are welcoming and helpful. We love ATA!

My child has been going to ATA in St Ann for a few years and we absolutely love it! My child is disciplined, grounded, respectful. I owe a lot of credit to Ms. Cather and the other instructors. When they say it takes a village to raise your children, they are part of that village. They are tough, set expectations but they are role models, leaders, and encouragers. Thanks Ms. Cather and staff for all your dedication to the students.

My son has grown in SO many ways since training here! It has helped boost his confidence and helped with behavioral struggles as well! All of the instructors here have poured into my son in so many ways so much so that he feels like that studio is a second home!

The staff at this place is awesome! They have taken the time to get to know my son and assist him in reaching his potential. My son
has struggled with behavioral issues in middle school and the expectations of Ms. Cather and her staff have helped improve his behavior. I highly recommend this school!

My 5 year old has been part of this class since July 2011. My wife and I both agree that the instructor is really good at teaching these kids balance, form, to make friends (not enemy's), and she really cares about the kids. I hated the other two taekwondo academies we visited. They were just too rigid. Joan Carter accepts girls too so when my little girl is old enough (2yrs) Ill send her along too. Great for teaching them to respect each other and the people around them.
-Update 2015
Son is doing great! Still working on his forms and getting a good control of his body.
