Bladen Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Norfleet Midyette in 1953. A practicing veterinarian for over 50 years, Dr. Midyette was well-known as a great man that did much for his community. In addition to providing veterinary care for several generations of residents, he served on the Bladen County Board of Health.
In 2011 the Bladen County Animal Shelter was named in his honor. After his passing in 2013, his family wanted to keep the hospital open to continue to serve the clients and pets of Bladen County, and to preserve the outstanding reputation in which Dr. Midyette had dedicated his life's work. Dr. Sheila Hanby was contacted by his family and began working at the hospital in 2013.

Services
At Bladen Animal Hospital, we believe in preventative care for your pet. Early detection of health problems can allow for prompt treatment. Your pet should receive a comprehensive physical exam at least once a year and geriatric, or older pets (pets 7 years or older), should have a physical exam twice yearly.

Dr. Parker takes great care of all of our hunting dogs. She is very understanding and professional. She works us in when there is an emergency and she takes great care of our animals. We actually drive over an hour to see her, because she is that good! We have used her for well visits, and surgeries! We love her!

Dr. Parker and her staff have been treating our pets for many years. They treated us like family when we lost our Ragdoll Oakley. Our pets become a very important part of our family so Dr. Parker also becomes part of the family while helping you through such hard times. I hope she knows how thankful I am for her.
