I work from several premises-first, with "good perspective, " we tend to suffer less, feel calmer, more grounded. Conversely, when we've "lost perspective, " we tend to feel more stressed, anxious, depressed and despair. So, I work with clients to restore and establish "good perspective, " when indicated.
I'm a big believer that to be human is to be vulnerable, with insecurities and anxieties-therefore, paradoxically, the most well-adjusted individuals are those most in touch, and comfortable, with their vulnerability. And the most secure individuals, paradoxically, are those walking around least ashamed of, and most comfortable with, their insecurities and anxieties (even while they may be striving to lessen them).

Beyond my dedication to my private psychotherapy practice, I've clinically specialized in the narcissistic spectrum personality disorders for more than 20 years. I've given extensive radio interviews, and blogged more than a hundred articles, on the exploitative personalities. I have extensive expertise with the narcissistic spectrum personality disorders, including psychopathy (aka sociopathy).
Coaching can mean different things to different people. And coaches of all stripes "coach" with diverse philosophies. But great coaches know what they coach best, and how to "get the best" out of those they're coaching. They inspire and motivate with a purpose, and with respect for individuality. Great coaches mobilize the potential, and often the hidden resources, of their clients.
While not every relationship is meant to last or work, many relationships, even badly damaged ones, can be repaired when partners are motivated to do so with targeted, effective guidance from a psychotherapist or Life Coach. I work extensively with couples who haven't given up on their relationships, and I look forward to working with you.
Together, we build your self-esteem, develop your coping skills, and embrace your individuality as you navigate the challenging years of adolescence. We do so confidentially, in a warm, accepting environment. You discover how healthy and mature you are to allow yourself the freedom to express yourself and your concerns, at your pace, with a therapist who accepts and respects you for who you are.
I strongly believe that perfectionism, and perfectionistic attitudes, generate tremendous stress and, in the end, obstruct and undermine our healthiest ambitions, peace of mind and fulfillment. From my experience, it's impossible to be relaxed, flexible and well-balanced when enslaved to perfectionistic tendencies and mandates.

Steve is an outstanding therapist. He is a great listener and shows great sensitivity to discussing difficult family and friend issues that we all face.
His objective clinical evaluations of the problem are spot on accurate the several times I have discussed problems with him and his advice every time was even better. I would highly recommend Steve Becker to help with any family, friend or emotional issues.
