Poolside Bar & Grill is located in the Upper Deck Hotel. Open weekdays at 5 pm, weekends at 12 noon. Check our great menu of specialty sandwiches, 1/2 pound burgers, great appetizers, and fabulous never-fried onion rings and french fries. Enjoy your meal poolside! NO DEEP FRYING USED! Best Gyro sandwich and Wings on the island!
Gravity Park is a fun amusement park with rides like go-karts, mini-golf, the Rocket and the Skycoaster. Entry is free, so you only have to pay per ride. Sea Turtle Inc. is a sea turtle conservation center that you can visit with friends and family. Learn about the various sea turtles there and watch them be fed.

LOVED ME SOME UPPER DECK- Eddie and Debbie in the front office were extremely helpful and accommodating. My car broke down while I was staying at Upper Deck and they took such good care of me during that time. Aside from the great hospitality, the Upper Deck Hotel was such a sweet place to stay, cute pool and hot tub, full-bar, dog-friendly, very laid-back feel. Would 1000% return to Upper Deck for another SPI vacation!

I didnt get a chance to stay at the hotel....but I will most definitely stay next time. We stopped in the bar our last night on the island and our only regret was that we didn't find this hidden gem sooner. The place was clean, the drinks were sooo good, the locals were sweethearts and the bar tender Michelle was amazing. Easy 5 stars, definitely stop in if you're looking for a laid back place for drinks and no judgment!

Since the moment I walked in, I felt the friendly environment. Everyone was very sweet and helpful. I loved that the restaurant/bar stays open til 2 am. They have ice chests, chairs, and umbrellas that they let you borrow to take to the beach at no cost. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our anniversary outing very much. We will definitely be back soon.

This place was great, from the staff to guests. It's about a 2-3 minute walk to the beach to soak in the sun and surf. If you're not in the mood for the beach you can lounge by the pool or relax at the bar. The night life at the hotel is nice with the pool and hot tub being open until 2am with a bar go with that.
The hotel has a new owner who is very pleasant and will make this hotel even better. She graciously shared champagne with all the guests to celebrated her new adventure. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely delightful staff. Our concierge was Eddie (superb service). Michelle was our bartender/chef and she is brilliant. We stayed in the king plus fold-out bedroom it was everything we needed except for shelves but there is a closet space. Me and my husband loved our little getaway at this spot as it was just what we needed. 2 minutes away from the beach by foot and tons of eateries and attractions along the strip.

It was our first time at the Upper Deck and it was fantastic. Location was perfect, pool was nice, food was great, what more can you ask for? Jay was funny and helpful. It was very convenient to be able to grab food from there when it was raining. Short walk to the beach, and they had a place to rinse off the sand before going up to your room. They even had live music the first night.
The only thing I can see being a problem for someone is the stairs. My 70 year old husband did just fine going up and down the stairs, but I can see where it would be an issue for some. Especially with luggage.

We stayed a couple night. It is adult only hotel. We got to really enjoyed our quiet time with no kids screaming and running around. (Wait until I got home) there is coffee at the lobby. I wish they have breakfast menu like others cause thier food is good. Drinks is decent. The bartender is super nice for sure she know what she is doing. Room is small but that's all we need. Hotel is a minute from the beach and 10 minutes walk to grocery, Whatburger, liquor store and breakfast place. Hope to come back next year.

It is a really cute place with great amenities. John was amazing showing us the property. He'll explain everything you need to know! Loved the outdoor bar, but it's only open on weekends. Prices and food in restaurant are great!
The room definitely needed some repairs and housekeeping wasn't great.
The place is for sale, so I assume they won't be repairing much right now.

Great bar with the amazingly amazing bartenders Jay and Michelle! They made this stay feel like home and we have met before! The welcoming committee was amazing! The Jell-O shots were even better!
Great outdoor space with a swimming pool open till 2am just like the bar! Definitely go by, relax, see the amazing ladies and tell them we sent ya!

Well all I can say is you get what you pay for...
Where do I start... the king size bed was hard and the sheets were rough
Fan was dirty as well as bathroom, it needs a lot of repairs
Parking was tight
No iron in room, it did have a blow dryer, overall the appearance was old and dirty.
However, the staff was great!! They were very helpful and made themselves available!! We didn't eat at their grill so can't rate that. The hotel was for adults only and when some young adults were being inappropriate in and by the pool, they were told to leave the area! Also let me add the air conditioner

Not worth the trip! The staff claims there is WiFi, but it only works outside of the property while you can't even get a signal in the rooms. The pool is dirty and full of dead bugs, the rooms have bugs and the overall experience here is crappy at best. I'm very disappointed and I feel I've wasted money and time here. AVOID this sinking ship!

Stayed here many times, last time we stayed we kept being woken up by doors slamming. (My partner and I were ripped from our sleep. It sounded like someone was barging into our room, many times throughout the night.)It was June (pride month) and we missed all your Pride flags. It was honestly heart breaking. I used to really love this place pre-pandemic. However your food and drinks deserve a higher rating. Your bartender (Michelle) treated us very well and very kind!!!

I've been coming to this place for almost 30 years through all its iterations and owners. Check in is pretty easy, sign indicates the hotel is for sales gain. Quality has gone down. Used to Be a time when trash cans in rooms were emptied, coffee and breakfast in the mornings and all this is gone. Bathroom fixtures need replacing or at least cleaned thoroughly. Towels are replaced daily, and good COVID social distancing measures.

The stay was amazing! The rooms were clean and nice and everyone working there was amazing. We did have a bit of an altercation because we were not told everything about extra guests. One of the staff didn't tell us when we checked in that we had to pay for an extra guest and we found out at checkout that we needed to. But thankfully the owner was so sweet and understanding that he helped us out and was willing to not charge us it. Hot tub was amazing and the bar was really awesome as well. Wonderful stay and wonderful staff. Definitely a place worth to stay!!

My first trip to SPI. Stayed at the Upper Deck for one week and was very pleased with everything. The entire staff were very friendly. The owner went way out of his way to make my stay perfect. The check-in tour was helpful because you might not find all the hidden areas of the property. My room was comfortable and was very clean. The pool area is gorgeous and well maintained.The bar food is very good and all cooked to order.

I absolutely, positively adore the concept of this hotel. It's adults only, great beach access, bright and colorful, and has a little hidden oasis-bungalow vibe to it. My sister gave it lots of high praise, and for the off-season prices? It's hard to find such a deal.

I spent three nights here with my wife for a vacation. We arrived and we were taken on a tour and then we were shown our room. Our room was extremely hot, they hadn't turned on the ac unit even though we called ahead of time to say we were on our way. All of my wife's makeup melted in the room, that's how hot it was. It didn't even melt when we were on the road for 8 hours. The bathroom was unbelievably hot since the room didn't have central ac. Came here to stay for the Splash parade festival. Booked the room in December and was looking forward to a nice long weekend at the beach. Unfortunately, I had some issue with the room location and noise. The owner offered to make it up the next time I came into town.

My friends and I stayed here over spring break and we absolutely loved it!! The rooms are nice and probably the cheapest on the island, and the staff is amazing! Everyone who was staying at the hotel was super friendly and it was very easy to make friends. They also have a grill and bar on the inside, which is nice because you never even have to go anywhere else to eat or drink if you don't want to. I will definitely stay here again!

This place is not for everyone. If you love that hippie lifestyle and don't give af where you lay your head at night because of all the strong mixed drinks you drank, then this place is for you. Old, smelly, and nothing like the pictures featured on Booking.com. We decided to sleep at another hotel down the street that was $50 more dollars a night. Totally worth it.

- The AC unit kept the room super cool. The rocking chairs are a nice touch.

This hotel is an undiscovered oasis of adult, fun times. Having adults only is a way to relax in itself but with a great clean pool and jacuzzi and beach chairs and umbrellas to borrow it made for the most relaxing stay i have had in a while!
Staff were very attentive, and friendly with cleanliness being a priority. Bar was well stocked with a great Jukebox and simple great bar food.
Location was literally 2 minutes walk from the beach and being in the center of the island, every nightlife location was within an easy drive.
Owners and the staff made the effort to make our stay the best it could

Upper Deck hotel and bar is definitely a spot I would recommend for anyone visiting South Padre Island. It is a small adult only hotel less than 10 minute walk from the beach. The rooms were clean and uncluttered. They have a pool with a bar close by as well as a hot tub. The staff was extremely friendly and all requests were attended to promptly.
