Modern Western medicine cannot yet explain how acupuncture works. Classical acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of Qi (an essential substance which nourishes and constructs the body) through channels that cover the body, similar to the nerves and blood vessels. This theory states that acupuncture adjusts the flow of Qi in the body, leading it to areas where it is stuck or overabundant.
Herbology is much older than acupuncture, originating back to more than 3500 years ago. Herbology is the use of natural plants, minerals and some animals in origin in order to prevent or treat illness. Herbs are administered in capsules, extracts, infusions-teas, herbal liquor-medicinal wines, tinctures and in ointments, plasters, pastes, poultices and essential oils.
Our primary goal is to help you achieve health and harmony in a safe and natural way. We pride ourselves on providing you with a comfortable environment where you can feel secure discussing your deepest concerns. We strive to do our best in explaining each step of your experience and to work with you in order to find a treatment plan that suits your personal needs to improve your health.
A: The needles used are very fine, usually not much thicker than a strand of hair. The needles are inserted to a very shallow depth which is practically painless. Many times, you will not even feel the needle be put into place. Many people even fall asleep during their acupuncture treatment because it is so relaxing.
