Although cremation dates back to ancient times, it has only recently become a common choice throughout the United States. People choose cremation for a variety of reasons. Some do so based on environmental considerations. Others have philosophical or religious reasons.

Whatever your reason for considering cremation, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home offers a variety of options that will combine cremation with a fitting tribute to your loved one. Many of our clients find that opting for cremation gives them the opportunity to combine and personalize our service offerings to create a truly unique and meaningful memorial.
Pre-planning a funeral has many benefits to both you and your family. It clearly expresses your wishes ahead of time, allowing your family to complete the funeral arrangements you desire. You can lessen the emotional and financial burden of your survivors during a sorrowful time. Arrangements can be made either at the funeral home, or we can meet with you at your home.
The death of a loved one can be one of life's most difficult moments. The depth of our grief is determined by the closeness of our relationship to the person who died and to the circumstances surrounding the death. Grieving is a process that takes time. We do not get over a loved one's death; rather, we integrate his/her memory into our lives and become reconciled to life without that person.

One of the best funeral homes I've had the chance to visit. Very kind, respectful and reverent. They go above and beyond in their service to grieving families.

Made this an easy process, place could use a little updating and when having 2 ceremonies at once, the rooms are right next to each other and caused confusion
