She received her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Liberty University.

He received his Associate Degree from Mortuary School at John Tyler Community College and MBA from Liberty University.

Serves on the Legislative Advocacy Committee with the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, Michael also started Hamlar Enterprises, which is a business brokerage firm which has managed more than a million in local transactions across southwest Virginia. 2012, Michael and his wife, Katina, established Hamlar Properties, which is a property real estate firm that manages and oversees real estate transactions.
